  1. What are people using to control spam? There's two problems 1/ The incoming spam itself 2/ The mail that is sent to spammers confirming their message has been processed. In the second case, sending the spammers an email confirmation, usually to fake emails, causes hard bounces and therefore degrades credibility with 3rd party mail providers (I use sendinblue). This loss of credibility means real users mail arrives more slowly.
  2. Setup: ThirtyBees 1.2 PHP 7.4 MySQL I just installed ThirtyBees two days ago and I am working on getting my store setup. Of course, I want to receive email notifications when a customer places an order, comments on an order, or sends an email to customer service. Right now none of that is working. I have IMAP settings in the Customer Service tab, and it pulls messages fine from that. But when I reply the customer is not sent an email. Similarly, I'm not receiving any emails when things happen. All the emails show up in the Advanced Parameters > E-mail tab. In that tab, I have tried the "Test your Email Configuration" section but NEVER receive an email. I have tried using the PHP mail() function, doesn't work. But when I create a standard php page somewhere else on my server and go to it, the mail function works fine there. I have tried SMTP and that doesn't work either, but my SMTP settings are working and tested with the SMTP test website. I have enabled debug mode but don't see any error logs. And all I get are success notifications when I try to send a message (test or to the customer), never any error messages. There is also nothing in the error_log file. I've read this thread and this issue on GitHub, neither are my issue and they are on older versions (and I NEVER get any error messages). I guess I'm coming to my limit being able to do stuff in the UI, and not too familiar with the back-end. Installed using Softalicious on a CPanel server. I have all the appropriate PHP modules according to the README on the repo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone thinks this would be better suited as a GitHub Issue then I will gladly put it there instead.
  3. Hi, Is there a way to include product availability status in the order confirmation email a customer gets when placing an order? I know it shows up in cart product line at checkout, but customers sometimes miss this and then email/phone about delayed order. It would be much clearer to include 'in stock' or 'out of stock' message in the order confirmation email the customer gets. Failing that in the Out of stock email sent to customers after an order placed. Currently this only says a product you ordered is out of stock, but fails to mention which one - not very useful if they've ordered multiple products. Thanks

Setup: -Thirtybees 1.1.0 fresh installation -Ubuntu 20.04 -nginx server (tls v1.2 and 1.3) -php 7.4 -mariadb -thirtybees languages: english and spanish The BO test email never sends, I tried php mail(), smtp mail with different providers... but always fails. The message in red is only "Error: check your configuration". The debug mode doesn't show me any more details about it. One thing to note: if I intentionally put a wrong password in smtp details, the error message changes (wrong parameter from service, or something similar), so with the correct password my server actually succeeds in reaching the email service. Normal email sending from the server shell works. I searched here and on your github, but I don't find anything relevant (maybe only the languages thing of another github issue, but the files are all there) so I wonder why I'm the only one having this problem.
  5. I can play-around with email templates, but how do I edit what their smarty tags call ? I want to make two emails exactly the same, and can do the html part, but it looks as though I need to edit the {products} tag to make it work like the {items} tag, and the tags dont work if swapped around. From bo> localization >email templates > etc> core emails > order.conf uses a {products} tag mailalerts > new_order uses an {items} tag core emails > order.conf garbles customizations a little; it adds the product name and price twice, although the total is OK mailalerts > new_order copes better I'm sure there are other work-arounds (I could find some email service that sends new_order to the customer), but it would be good to know how smarty tags work any help welcome John
  6. In total I have 3 stores running on thirtybees. One of them will automatically send a confirmation email to the customer regardless of the set status and the assigned email, but the other 2 do not. What can be the problem? Which part of the code automatically sends this email? All stores have the same settings including used modules but 1 works 2 not. SMTP email setup is fine, because all other emails go fine except for order_conf. He just ignores it. Mail alert module working good, email to merchant is delivered ok, but to customer not.
  7. All: I wanted to put this here for others. It's a good general guide to email and blocklists. If you are using saas, cloud, or managed hosting you shouldn't need this guide. If you have your own server unmanaged using cpanel, plesk or others you might find it useful. As always it's a living document. Feel free to correct or add to it. Hope it helps.   8. Mail isnt connecting via external providers sendgrid or mailjet's API, no amount of trying different combinations is working, has anyone experienced issues here then found a solution?
  9. Since I changed themes from Community to Niara - my order & contact emails are not arriving I don't even know where to look to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
