APCu cache not working

  • Dear All, I have enabled APC cache and installed APCu cache manager module but the memory usage is still 100% free. It seams that APC not cache any data. I use APCu Version 5.1.11 ana PHP 7.1.15 On performance tab cache and full page cache are enabled. Any suggestion on why it is not working? Thanks, Daniele

  • How is your server setup? APCu will only cache once users log into your site as well.

  • I tried to log-in but there are no entries anyway. This is what I see on APCu manager:

  • @lesley Why is it like this, that it only caches logged in users?

I also have experienced some problems with APCu caching back-office pages and therefor showing incorrect settings and different stats in APC.php depending on computer I am using.

    Regards
    Jonas

  • Simply put, that is the function of APCu.

  • Hmm, ok. Is redis working the same way? Cause my checkout uses guest login without users needed to log in so most of my customers wouldn’t benefit of APCu then.

  • I guess I should ask, what kind of data are you trying to cache?

  • As much as possible without any problems I guess. Just trying do make my site load faster. Used your modules and saw that it didn’t cache anything. Now I have had some help from my hosting company and now it’s caching and the site loads faster but seems like APCu has some problems.

  • I can see the stats populated only with full page cache on.
