How to add interesting new features to thirty bees while staying PS 1.6 compatible?

Recommended Posts

I tried to give my 2 cents telling Tatan (panda theme developer) I was thinking to migrate to TB (it was a good idea that he knows that his clients are interested in TB) He answer me that he doesn´t plan to support it. I hope all together can make him change his mind

We need more users, a longer track record, and a module/theme store. It will take time but when developers see money to be made they will come. If PS goes under and 30bz has a module/theme store then they will come quickly because nothing to lose ar that point. :)

Hopefully our store will open soon. It has had a lot of hard work and bug fixing on it in the last couple of weeks. Like everything else, we are striving for it to be perfect before we open it.

I reached out to them on their comment board, https://themeforest.net/item/transformer-responsive-prestashop-theme/5095795/comments?page=141&filter=all#comment_16972237 I think the more people that reach out to the developers the more interest they will take and they will eventually start supporting it.

I asked Jonny Li aka sunnytoo - the developer of the Transformer and Panda themes if he will support thirtybees and he doesn't have time, because he's working on PS 1.7 updates. I just visited @lesley's link above and posted this:

Hello, Jonny, I am very successfully using your Transformer Theme with thirty bees (https://forum.thirtybees.com/) and more and more people are leaving PS to come and join us. Many of us use your Transformer or Panda Themes and we are a very forward-thinking group. I hope you'll have time to look at it because I'm pretty sure that you'll see how easily you can adapt your themes to our open source web development model.

Here's the other post discussing more about themes. I just wish it had the transformer theme and panda theme in its link. I'm going to see who the OP is and if it can be changed.

@vzex Regarding this one, it works with handcrafted URLs (manual see on the generator page). For example

https://dummyimage.com/1170x65/000/f00/&text=welcome+to+our+store+ALL+SALES+20%25+OFF!:

demo banner

@alwayspaws !!!

How did you get it to work? Go slow it's late Friday :)

What did you enter into the text box? If I use the code in the manual: welcome to our store ALL SALES 200x25 OFF! That's what comes up, if I use % it still comes up 200x25!

Tried in chrome and firefox. I think it's a great source for a quick banner if you don't have other means ie skills to make one!

@Traumflug help :) What did you enter into the text box? Here I thought @alwayspaws figured it out!

Me? I didn't do that! Did I? Exhausted. Now have to edit prices because they just changed! :(

@vzex actually, @wakabayashi told me about https://contentbox.org/ in this forum post but I want that banner. My theme probably has it because it has everything (lol) but I'm already in need of 8 arms and 4 computers to catch up with all this work.

What did you enter into the text box?

Nothing. I handcrafted the URL. Just copy the text above the picture into your browsers address bar and get the same result. Then change this URL to change the result.

@Traumflug Got it! I've handcrafted things before but never a URL! That's magical! :)

@vzex I don't got it. I copied the URL but don't know where it goes for my site to have it. When you get it working, please let me know. Not only did prices change, but new sizes have been added and the prices are different. I'm having a heck of a weekend.

@alwayspaws I'm finding learning a theme is harder than learning thirtybees! Appreciation for all those who work so hard to make this look easy! Love learning new things!

@vzex Yes, it is! There are so many little details to learn so we can configure our sites the way we want, but when we find them, it's "nerdvana"! lol. Saw that word on "Date My Dad" tv show.

I also love learning new things and I have a user name in one of the umpteen forums that's like that. :)
