Panic attack - my site crashed! PLEASE!!

Recommended Posts

All I did was edit a category....Β

After saving it, that category disappeared! Cannot be found! I went to my website and all I get is a 500 server error.

I cannot change that category back the way it was. Now my site is down.

PLEASE HELP! ASAP. 😞 😞

Have you not accidentally disabled it , ie turned it off , or changed the seo

Can you not restore from your host site..

You can probably still log in to your backend (hopefully)

if you can, log in and go to Menu >> Advanced Parameters => Performance

On that page, enable debug.

Then reload your frontend

You should see the error that is being encountered.

Post whatever is relevant here.

Try to rebuild the layered filter (edit it, and save).

This error500 is in BO or FO or both ?

It was just on the main website. I was still able to access back office, but that category was completely gone so there was no way to bring it back. I had to do a complete restore (from 2 weeks ago 😞 )

I was losing sales. I had to restore a backup (but it was from Dec. 26th). All good now, but I am saving this thread incase it happens again. Any idea what happened?

Thanks for your help everyone!

Did you enabled debug mode, as @zenΒ suggested? That would have give you some error code, and we could give you ideas.

If I can help now, I will.... is there any way for me to pull the log at this point? Wait, probably not since it was restored. 😞
