alwayspaws
@jnsgioia Helllo! Which way are you saying is right? Did you look at my screenshot of the two exact same products uploaded with the exact same file two months apart and they have different results? alwayspaws
@wakabayashi said in How do I use a csv import for a large amount of colors & sizes for a single product?: @alwayspaws Sorry, I can't help you on this one. I have never worked with csv imports. To be honest you know much more about it than me. I believe that, Markus or Michael know the technical part. Thank you for looking, Emanuel. :)
jnsgioia
@alwayspaws I did see the difference, that is why I looked at the csv file. I am wondering if it somehow saved with the wrong field delimiter when you changed the number. I was expecting to see a ; for the field delimiter and a , for the multivalue separator not a , for both. Also your file had quotes around the name and value entries which I don't use (the quotes), and are not in the sample file. If you are testing on your test site could you upload the original combination file as it was and see if it overwrites the product to show the incorrect information? If it does, then something was changed in the upload process since the file was made and maybe @mdekker could tell you how you need to change your csv file. I don't know if I am making any sense here :| This is the last combination csv which I uploaded. 01507761615035Combinations_import.csv
DaoKakao
I use semicolon as a field delimiter too. The comma is a source of difficulties. All "string" fields i embrace with quotes.
alwayspaws
@jnsgioia @DaoKakao I use openoffice calc I have tried so many different options now that I'm completely lost. No imports are working correctly. They all do not format properly when I get to the product import stage. I looked at your csv @jnsgioia. What separator do I open it with? I use openoffice calc

DaoKakao
@alwayspaws You'll be angry with me.... Perhaps, it would be better to try manual import via the phpmyadmin or HeidiSQL? And i froget to mension - i use the double quote for text UPD: tried 2 open your CSV in the Libreoffice calc - everything is Ok, i set the flag "Quoted field as text" - everything is perfect. alwayspaws
@DaoKakao :) How could I be angry with my good friend? :) I have only finally felt comfortable with csv's one month ago. I found my original openoffice calc .ods file that I uploaded in July and made a copy to test it now, as @jnsgioia suggested. I'm trying to convert the .ods to .csv with field delimiter of semicolon and text delimiter of a comma.
alwayspaws
@jnsgioia @DaoKakao Here are the results of importing the original csv for the same product today as back in July 2017. I included .csv and screenshot of product which shows that the correct and incorrect display of sizes and colors attributes TODAY, after uploading the attached .csv.
