alwayspaws Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 I know you're trying to help me but I know that: and I need to get off the computer now even though you're trying to help. Thank you.
zimmer-media Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 @alwayspaws It is best to ignore the product ID when selecting the fields. Use product reference as key in the previous screen.
jnsgioia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 @alwayspaws I did update it. I downloaded the zip file he provided and uploaded it like a new module to TB. It updated the old module.

Use product reference as key in the previous screen. Hi. Do you mean delete that column because if I'm going to ignore it, what do I need it for? :) Can I just use the Product Reference (Reference number) and Reference as the Combination Reference? Thank you.
alwayspaws Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 My latest attempt again failed. Products CSV - just one product with two colors and eight sizes. 01508208740243products_import-worksheet.csv Combinations CSV: 01508208789132combinations_import-template-worksheet.csv I think I should make a copy of my tee shirts CSV that worked and try it again unless someone sees something wrong with these CSV's. Settings for import: Field separator: ^ (caret) Multiple value separator: semicolon Size options do not show up, item shows "this product is no longer in stock" and the tags are cut off again. @lesley @mdekker Can you please look at the CSV imports? How can all these things suddenly go wrong?
jnsgioia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 @alwayspaws I checked your files. You are using a ; for both the field separator and the multivalue separator in the first one. You need to save the file using a ^ as the field separator like you did for the second one.
alwayspaws Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 @jnsgioia Thank you for checking! I used the caret, not a semicolon exactly as I showed in the above post. I think something is getting corrupted but I don’t know what. I took screenshots every step of the way but am on iPhone now
jnsgioia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 @alwayspaws When you get back to your computer and can see the screen shots the one for saving the first file should look like this except for the read only part:
alwayspaws Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Good morning @jnsgioia I found a note I made before getting off the desktop because it did not format correctly as shown in these screenshots: When reopening the CSV file you MUST set " Separated by" as a "SEMICOLON" and check the "Other options" section and enter the caret symbol which looks like: ^ This is my products .csv and I only have two color choices and eight sizes. First attempt to reopen a saved .csv without the semicolon: I didn't open the file when I saw the above. I clicked semicolon and left the caret and it looked correct: I'm having someone look over my CSV's and will let you know the outcome. Thank you!
jnsgioia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 @alwayspaws You will need to open it with a semi colon and then do a save as with the caret.
alwayspaws Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 @jnsgioia why is this so complicated with libre office? Open office doesn’t make you do that. Once I save CSV’s and reopened them they open correctly. Hoping the other user has a permanent solution. At least as permanent as it can be. :)
jnsgioia Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 @alwayspaws Once you have saved it using the caret you will open it using the caret, but right now the file you posted has been saved using a semi colon so you have to open it using the semi colon. If you have the file already in .ods format you can just save it as a text document using the caret.
alwayspaws Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 @jnsgioia Thank you. I'm working on it.
alwayspaws Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 The issue is solved. I had to know how to save .ods and save that to .csv and import with the correct admin CSV import settings. Thank you to everyone who helped including @jnsgioia @DaoKakao and @zimmer-media :)
alwayspaws Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 @DaoKakao @jnsgioia @zimmer-media It was a long, hard journey for me (seriously!) but I have now fixed two products and know how to fix the other fourteen. Here are the before and after screenshots. Thank you all very much for your kindness, patience and for sharing your knowledge with me. Before fixing the combinations: After fixing the combinations:
vzex Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Holy :cow: cow!!! I don't know how you manage so much inventory! I've not touched csv imports option yet but read all these posts in the event I need to. What a learning curve! I can barely deal with under 100! Big props!
alwayspaws Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 Hey! Thank you! I can always use a morale boost. :airplane:
