EU Energy Label
Has anyone already tried one of the two EU Energy Label modules from PS-Store with TB, or does anyone know another option for this?
Or will there be this option as a standard for TB?
I wouldn’t trust either of these modules to be honest.
https://addons.prestashop.com/en/legal/22114-eu-energy-rating-energy-label.html hasn’t been touched in years.
https://addons.prestashop.com/en/labels-logos/18331-eu-energy-legal-label-energie-label.html doesn’t even have a finished UI. This makes me wonder if the module has been finished at all.
Have you used these modules on PS?
@mdekker hi michael
No so far I have not used these modules.
I now have a client who wants to create a new shop but this is needed because of the legislation.
Interesting. How advanced does it have to get?
I see that the EU provides a way to generate these labels: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/eepf-labels/
The second module allows for uploading these labels and show them on the product page, but you will have to manually generate the labels first. But if you need just the icon then the second module will probably also be suitable. I would ask the developer for a demo if possible, because from the images you cannot see whether the module has been finished properly. Seen the broken UI it looks incomplete.
@mdekker thanks for your tipps to the developer. Yes, it gets more crazy with the laws. And there will surely be some more. In a stationary trade no one goes and checks, only the online retailers get beautiful penalties in case of missing product details, faulty ordering process etc.
Yeah I wonder if we can make a decent module that is based on an API provided by the EU. I cannot imagine they do not provide better tools than this manual generator. There must be a nice way.
Yes that would be cool. I am myself have for a long time been thinking about creating an additional shop with electronics.
So far me the EU Energy Label law deterred. For all sorts of things, at least in Germany, this label has to appear on the product page near the product image (not in the picture gallery).
Unfortunately, this starts with light bulbs, the larger devices such as monitors, refrigerator, washing machines, etc. it is mandatory anyway.
I dont know, how many retailers this option need.
Oh, it looks like there are not as many requirements for websites: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/eepf-labels/label-type/internet-labels
Still, it might be a nice idea to let the module crawl the Generator Page, so the whole labels can be shown on the site, e.g. when hovering the energy icon.
