I've just tried uploading the module on my dev site and it doesn't load. I clicked upload, selected the module and the count goes to 100% but then it just stays at 'waiting for ' with the spinning anti-clockwise circle. I left this for 15 mins with nothing happening. I refreshed the page but the module wasn't there. I also cleared out the cache and tried again but still the same issue of waiting.
My dev site is PrestaShop 1.6.1.11 upgraded multiple times from 1.6.1.4. This is on a shared server. My configuration info is:

Apache
PHP 5.6.30
Memory limit 128M
Max execution time 90
MySQL 5.6.33
MySQL InnoDB
