  1. Hi, I'm pretty sure it's not a prestashop 1.5 theme. We instructed the designer to take the default thirty bees theme and edit it to look like our old theme (prestashop 1.5 default theme modified). It has things in it which look like the thirtybees front end demo though, the way the menu looks and the search bart etc. It's definitely not the same as our 1.5 theme (www.ethical-pets.co.uk).

The thirtybees demo has a modal cart thing which we don't use, we set it to stay on page when product is added to cart in the back officr. I don't have a blank install to check this out on though, but perhaps it's a bug?

  2. Hi

Right now (on my test site) when you click "add to cart" on any product on the home page (using the button that drops down) it refreshes the page and takes you back to the top of the page.

I need to stop that happening, it's interfering with a plugin I am using. When add to cart is clicked I just need the page to stay as it is, with the add to cart drop down open (ie: no change at all).

Anyone know how I can do this. Also, out of interest, why does it refresh the page like that, I don't think it happens on the product pages, but I may be wrong).

  3. Hi, we have migrated our store in a staging area and I working on it with the designers. One thing I was really excited to see is that the stupid prestashop url's issue has been fixed already in thirtybees. Before, in prestashop, everytime we made a change to a product prestashop would change the URL slightly. I can't imagine Google etc cope well with this behaviour.

One thing that worries me about this, however, is that effectively all of our product page URLs will be changing all at once when we make the store live. All the store.com/a-product-56/ URLS will change to store.com/a-product/

I'm a bit worried that this is going to really mess with our organic site visits from search engines for a while, as it's almost like we are wiping away all our products and replacing them with new ones. After all, many of our products haven't been edited in a long time so the url's will have been the same for a long time.

Does anyone know what we should expect? Are we going to be looking at a big dive in organic traffic for a few months?

    Thanks for reading x

  4. This is interesting https://articles.uie.com/threehundmillion_button/ And this: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/361118-guest-checkout-and-turn-guest-into-customer/

The point they make is that all you need to do to change the process is

    1) Remove the "create an account box" and just show login or quick checkout 2) Then make the "convert to account" process accessible by the user 3) Fix the convert process so it doesn't send a plain text password by email to the user

It doesn't actually sound to hard to do... right?

  5. Hi, my current store is at www.ethical-pets.co.uk, we are updating to thirtybees and making some changes to maximise sales at the same time. We have a staging site at:

    http://eptest.gn.**apc.org

(remove stars, don't want a live link to my staging server)

So, it's very early stages obviously, the designer is working on the appearance etc, no need to feedback about that.

I am interested in your opinions of the sales processes and potential places to improve conversion, especially on mobile. Right now most things are either the same as they were before or as default in 30 bees. I am making a list of plugins and tweaks I want and I would love your thoughts and ideas on this. So: how do we make more money and convert more?

    Thanks guys!!

    Best

    Anna

  6. Yeah, I considered that, but I am not sure how it would work really. The customer wouldn't be able to set their own password and I don't want to email one to them (which is less secure and works badly) so when they next come to the store they would be locked out and have to do a password reset. I feel like it's a bit hacky and surley there must be a module someplace that does this. I found this three stage checkout one: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/registration-ordering-process/19876--3-pc-three-pages-checkout.html which is a little better than the current one I guess.

  7. Hi, I have seen this on a few stores (not sure what software they were using) and would like to duplicate it on my thirtybees store (converting from prestashop atm).

In this process, when you are looking at the checkout and ready to buy you see:

    Checkout or Login

The checkout process, which is for everyone who doesn't already have an account, is pretty standard, address, email, phone, shipping etc. Then, once purchase is complete, there is the option to convert to an account / save details. At that stage you choose a password etc.

I feel this is better than the current system which offers quick checkout (guest), create account or login, as the create account process takes the customer away from the 1-2-3 checkout work flow and takes time asking them for stuff, which makes abandonment more likely.

Does anyone know how to do this in thirtybees? Is there a prestashop plugin? I have been looking for a few hours and found nothing so far.
