  1. Brian Dean is a really good reference when you are just starting to learn SEO. He has tons of high quality posts and very actionable. I personally use Ahrefs for everything SEO related actually: KW research, competitor analysis, content research, ... They have improved their tools the last 2 years a lot. Best on the market right now imo, but yeah kinda pricy. Altough if you are really serious with your business you need something like this: you have to be able to do a competitor analysis, have a good mapping of your KW, start generating some content, ... I know there were some sites were you could share ahrefs accounts (this is against TOS of course), but not sure if they still exist.

@dprophitjr sure, I completely agree. I wouldn't use the SEO module to only automate everything. For example the one I use in PS right now also checks which products/cat pages don't have a description yet, which are to long and so on. This is very helpful data. And to write unique ones for every product or page is a very long process which you should do some research for. Then a module can always be simple to have a good start, then you can optimize it to get better CTR and so on.
  3. @DavidP said in Onepage Check-out like presta 1.7: I'd have to agree on the dynambee choice of option #3 and #4 because people like to know up front how much it's going to cost them with delivery. Even though you state what your delivery costs are a lot of people don't bother reading the T&C's and just go straight to checkout. If they've got to enter a ton of information before they get to the delivery this can put people off when they're typed in a load of info then are presented with a delivery charge. Totally agree with this. I see plenty of people registering just to take a look at the shipping costs (or this is at least what I assume), while they are stated on our FAQ page. I already lowered this by adding some code on the product page were it displays "free shipping and return to x" and getting the country via IP. For the countries that we don't offer free shipping, this message is not displayed. I see that asos.com is also tracking your country and when you go to your cart (or bag as they call it), you can immediately see the shipping cost to your country and what amount you should still spend to enjoy free shipping, really cool.
  4. @MockoB You are right. I didn't really check it completely. I thought it would be more "fluent" and switch to the other tabs more easily. @Havouza To be fair, yours could be a lot better. I think right now it is way to difficult for your users to find out what to do exactly. It is an example of a one page that is to complicated imo. Also when filling in my address and afterwards clicking on "pay with your card or PayPal account", it goes to PayPal automatically where I have to repeat all my address information. That is why in some cases a step checkout is still better. You have to be able to create a one page experience that is very clear and designed pretty well. All the modules for PS are out of the box really bad designed, but with some tweaking they are usable ofcourse. Shopify has a very good checkout process imo. They also have done numerous of conversion tests and they adapted their current one to this (which is not one page).
  5. @MockoB said in Onpage Check-out like presta 1.7: Is it onepage or onpage? I don't know how it is on ps 1.7 but on Rei.com it looks like standard 5 steps checkout. If it is "onpage" it is something I'm not familiar with. If you click on "guest checkout" you'll see the one page checkout that @mdekker is talking about I think. Looks pretty good!

@dprophitjr Yeah it is a very interesting discussion. But once again, buying intent keywords would be more for the description really. In the title could still use something like "buy brand + product name". Since I see a lot of brands/manufacturers that don't sell their products on their own site, and they are mostly rank #1 on the SERPs. Users could then be aware that they can actually buy it on your site and that it is not concerning a review/blog/give away/whatever. In the description I would for sure use something like free shipping/free returns/sales since it will increase your CTR. I ran some A/B tests on some meta stuff and just by increasing CTR results the rankings fluctuated a lot less and were ranking more in the top 3 than the top 10.

@dprophitjr on the title the buying intent keywords are less important yeah, and could just be simple brand + product name. But got to remember that CTR is very important nowadays, so even if you show up on first page in the SERP, if you don't get any clicks you will drop sooner or later. That is why these keywords are still useful.
  8. Shopify is quite limited for some stuff, for example you can’t remove their first level directory such as /pages/, can't edit the checkout page etc. Then again that is quite normal since it is just a plug and play platform. Like said above, you can get running with minimal work. That is why it is used a lot for dropshipping purposes . It can get quite expensive if you want things like advanced reports etc. I do find that most Shopify shops are very good looking and are pretty fast.

    Images again

Because PS auto-generates different sizes of every picture when you upload them. You can disable these under Preferences > Images.

@Havouza Sorry I was not able to reply before! But good that you made it work :) I saw the developer wrote about TB on their blog, that's why I decided to share it here also. Cool to hear he is eager to help out on it. I think it is a great addon and saves a lot of time. If you have any questions in general about SEO don't hesitate to ask!

Nope, didn't test it yet with TB. Been using it on 1.6.1.5 with no problems.

Always try to get a unique meta description and title yeah. It is very "easy" if you just include the product + brand name in your description + some key values of your shop + buying intent keywords. For example on product page, title could be: Buy product name online | shop name Description could be: Looking for product name? Shop at shop name and enjoy free shipping, free return and try it for 30 days... Could make it much longer but you get the idea. Remember that if your meta descriptions will show up in the Google results and people will base their opinion of the results based on it. Google tracks the Click Trough Rate of them, so you'll want something people really click on. That is why you should surely include some key factors like free shipping etc if you provide these. For bulk edits: I use https://codecanyon.net/item/prestashop-seo-manager/4662419 which is great for what you want to achieve. You can run it and will add descriptions as you want. It also includes a useful addon that tells you which products/categories are missing a description or where it is to long/short.
