Havouza
Has anyone heard about the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Seems to be an US thing. To sign up with a payment provider I need I have to have text about it in my T & C. Have no clue what to write
yaniv14
Look at other eCommerce website and copy/paste from their TOC. And make changes where necessary. Or if you have allot of spare money you can find a local lawyer that deal with internet.
Havouza
THE LAST i DID NOT HEAR. I have already stolen from Dropbox. Perhaps they will go to dmca ;-) I have never heard about it. The cookie law and the other EU stuff is enough
yaniv14
I recommend copying from eCommerce sites rather than Dropbox.
Havouza
I must admit that it is not easy to find. And dropbox was suggested in some article online. The question is if DMCA is valid outside US
Havouza
But if you can point at an e-commerce site that has the text I will for sure look at the difference
Havouza
And I hope we don't end up like in Germany where lawyers specialize in this and have crawlers looking for cases where they can threat to go to court
yaniv14
Just google shopping sites in US/Europe. You will probably find a billion. I dont recommend looking at the big ones, like: macys, oldnavy, etc.... I know that eCommerce also indicates about returns, transactions and stuff. and thats why I recommend eCommerce instead of Dropbox
Havouza
But that is all covered in Terms and Conditions. It is only the DMCA part I am interested in. They cant have anything to do with my returnpolicy. Its about copyright
alwayspaws
@Havouza said in DMCA: THE LAST i DID NOT HEAR. I have already stolen from Dropbox. Perhaps they will go to dmca ;-) I didn't hear that last sentence either! :-)
alwayspaws
I hope this helps but it's confusing. I don't know why you need it. Maybe you can find it on European websites. I looked at US websites and got nowhere fast. https://termsfeed.com/blog/dmca-terms-and-conditions/ "The DMCA Act is only applicable for U.S. businesses. For non-US businesses, this kind of clause is usually called a Copyright Infringement clause instead."
Havouza
It is strange I agree. Because I have never heard a word about it
alwayspaws
Maybe all you need is to put a link to your terms in whatever field they are asking for in the payments provider.
