  1. This would mainly be based around how you have your server setup. I would recommend the latest version of php that your site can run, Opcache, MariaDB for your database. There is not much that can be done for back office optimization really, it depends on the server a lot. Have you looked into store manager or store commander?

  2. I don't think it would be good for that since it would need to be core really. I think for a lot of the ideas and changes it would have to be set out for a 2.0 version because of the amount of compatibility it would break. We need to figure out what everyone needs really, then break them into individual features and see if we can add a few of them in minor versions without breaking things. Because of the whole product page mess it might be hard.

  3. Luciano,

They should all work. We have done a lot of testing and haven't had any issues yet. We are working to get the language section working. Even though PrestaShop is opensource they have copywritten all of their languages and not made them open source. So we are going to have to handle our own it looks like.

  4. There is not an ebay module in progress, but the standard one you are using should work.

The German market is important enough that we realize that people are worried about it and we are reaching out to figure things out. There is not a german contact yet. That is the point of this post is to try to get German people to help us since we do not know all of the laws and struggles.

Sure you can transfer your store, everything should be compatible.

Currently we do not earn money, we are hoping to change that in the future. We are going to earn money through partnerships. We do not plan to release any paid modules from our side, we will have an addons store that other developers can release paid modules from though. We will also have a free module repository at the same time too. Everything we release from thirty bees will be free.

  5. We have had a lot of inquires for German specific support for thirty bees. We plan on fully supporting the German market, but to be honest we are not sure about all of the regulations. What we need is help from German users.

We need to know what the shortcomings are and what needs to be done to fix them. We realize things are very different over there in regard to the ecommerce laws, but none of us are from Germany so we do not know the specifics.

If some German people could install thirty bees and give us some feed back that would be great. We could also use some German translations as well.

  6. I am familiar with the issue, I actually reported it several years ago to PrestaShop, http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCSX-3485?filter=-2 Our issue is pretty much the same, we could not change it in our first version without breaking some stuff, but it will be changed in the 1.1.x version.

  7. Soon we should have a Cloudways launcher setup, we are just waiting for them to deploy it. thirty bees works excellent with it since they support REDIS caching. Its a lot faster than a standard 1.6 and faster than 1.7 as well. You can check them out here, https://www.cloudways.com/en/?id=11188

  8. They should be. Cloudways is pretty unique in that it operates on top of existing systems. So you can use Digital Ocean servers, AWS, Google, Vultr, and others. Plus you can resize the servers easily as well. You can view more about them here, https://www.cloudways.com/en/?id=11188

  9. @amina you can always unzip the sip on the server. Soon you will be able to do a thirty bees install with Softaculous as well. We are also launching a hosting partnership with Cloudways next week as well. Users will be able to spin up a VPS for free and try out the new features of thirty bees. This will be great because they support modern stacks out of the box and have redis support for even faster sites.

  10. The stable version is actually going to be released today. Hopefully there are as few bugs as possible, that is what we are shooting for. Its a tough go though. A lot of the codebase was written by interns or just people with a general lack of understanding how programming works. We have tried to replace all of the major areas that have caused problems and reduced support to only secure versions of php since this is a software that does handle finnacial transactions.

At the same time we are adding features, something other platforms can learn something from.

I do think there will be bugs, there is too much code for there not to be small bugs. But we have introduced hotpatching to take care of those bugs. I do however think that our first release will validate payments, where it takes other platforms 5 versions before they can figure that issue out.
