  1. yeah but i guess most of you are missing the point: CSV Import which has to be edited in Excel, Musicmaster's module, Prestools... There's a TON of people who would just say: dude Im just a guy who runs a small web store I just want to enter to Thirty Bees and add the products and edit them. @DaoKakao perhaps the concept of spending 20 minutes for finding out what is wrong with an import is exactly what I say that is completely unnecessary... You shouldnt have to do that. Other platforms know that. Other platforms are ahead of PS and TB on that regard but suck on others... TB should step up the game on that area because as it currently stands is not the best in my opinion. And if it needs inspiration it should look at the other platforms that are doing it right.
  2. @daokakao seems like my point is not getting across, according to you it "took no more than" 20mins but remember that was just one product. My point is it can be done in 5 minutes, there are platforms out there that can do that and if TB wants to be different than PS it should notice those shortcomings. Just 20min... Imagine 20 minutes for 1000 products... Heck I read a guy with a "small Prestashop store" of just 13,000 products. I feel that what I'm saying is a legitimate issue for some people... Note that I am migrating away from Shopify to TB but that means I can compare the two closely and I can tell you the process that took me a few days in TB took only 3-4 hours in Shopify because I didn't have to scavenge for modules or forum posts (like the above) for an answer to something that should be intuitive...
  3. https://forum.thirtybees.com/topic/931/reopened-how-to-use-csv-import-for-many-colors-sizes-for-a-single-product/21 This is the perfect example of what should not happen on any store but due to Prestashop's limitations, TB will have to deal with it. This should be as easy as: I have a product with a bunch of combinations? No problem... Just create the product and in combinations just say: the colors are these, sizes are these and... Done... That guy has to deal with excel csv and lists when he said he had never used those (and why should he?)... The platform should make it easy for the merchant to add and manage a lot of products with ease not force them to hack.
  4. @marci123 yeah I am forced to go to the attribute generation tool and feature generation tool before that even being half useful because I cant add attributes with values on the fly as shown in my previous post. And I mean half useful because if i create an attribute named color with say 200 colors and then find out that my new products that come this week have 2 colors then guess what I have to do? I have to go and create another attribute named "secondary color" for example and then manually type the 200 colors again... No option to duplicate attributes, no option to import (unless you do the hack with the combinations) and so on.... In short Not easy to edit multiple things quickly. My point is I shouldn't have to use import hacks, modules or additional tools when managing products... Those things should be right there. Just click a product, go to combinations and add or delete or modify as many as I want right the in THAT product... Or say select multiple products that have similar products and just select them and add combinations that will have same color names just for those selected products... Those things are hard to code but would mean the difference between a good product and an awesome product.
  5. @mdekker haha yeah but think about it this way: Two developers who work on a lot of the main code have a disagreement, one of them gets his post deleted by mod without explanation... Developer thinks it was the other guy and decides to fork. Everyone that thinks he is right goes with him. As I mentioned, I have seen this happening on another forum... My point is: mods should comment when they delete something... Right now is not a big deal, later on might be a game changer for the community :) It's still a stretch though... I know... But possible nonetheless.
  6. This can also be taken as an oportunity to look for ways to avoid it in the future, because one simple misunderstanding can become a split community... I have seen it happening on other forums. I think this community might be very powerful but we have to avoid this kind of misunderstandings.
  7. @traumflug I personally dont take it like that. I am fully aware that your intentions are not bad. :) My point is that some people might take it like that given the context... look at this: Main Question: Answer This in short sounds like "Go away... we dont care" which is why he reacted this way. I dont mean thats what you want to say but thats how it sounds and it can lead to misunderstandings.
  8. @marci123 I do have my work arounds for this issue, my point is that the platform itself should be able to handle this so as to be more appealing to users... Say for example Shopify, is a semi decent platform that has several things pat down as easy variant/combination creation: or for mass editing like this: If we want Thirty Bees to be big then we have to have the basics covered... this ease of use is what we are compiting against (even if we dont realize we are compiting this is whats going on) If we cant have this the user base will never grow as fast as it could which is what happened to Prestashop... great potential but didnt want to compete.
  9. I would say remove the delete option but allow editing (in a timeframe) to fix mispellings. English is not my first language and usually I dont find errors (even when proofreading) until later on.
  10. @marci123 I wouldnt use the term 'slave to rules' but I think on large groups of people there has to be some form of organization. Sound rules might just be the solution to some misunderstandings. About Traumflug I agree that he has never been inapropriate. But some times his short and direct answers might be taken as unpolite or that he doesnt care which I am completly sure it is not his intention. The problem is that maybe he is a programmer and thats how they speak to computers but to humans that sounds like impolite or that they just dont care which might not be the case.
  11. You know, I think this has been an achilles hill of Prestashop since day one. They had the potential to become one of the biggest ecommerce platforms out there but how can you be the biggest when little stores struggle with the products? My store just have ~500 products (there are stores with thousands of products) at a given time but boy that is a pain in the ass make ANY kind of editing that has to do with several products at the same time. You were always forced to use a module for that or pay for the prestashop manager and stuff like that. I think this is something that must be done in the core of Thrity Bees, and not just partial editing, I think that to be big any store of any size must be able to grab 500 products and change the prices/category or anything they want without having to rely on external modules to do it. I know this wont be implemented soon because I can tell it might be too big of a job but I have the hope some day this comes to Thirty Bees and makes the way to a definite departure from Prestashop's limitations. This and a freaking mobile app... :D
  12. @marci123 I didnt mean that as the impression of the whole community... I meant that that specific answer that Traumflug gave had that feeling to it. Actually quite the opposite, the whole community is centered around "we will take your suggestions into account"... but that specific answer, on that specific post went completely against the community sentiment, in my opinion as a newcommer... I dont know the history between them or the context, but reading that post gave me that impression. As a community i think we have to take care of the image we transmit and then we have to work very hard to maintain that image even though some times is not how we feel.
  13. @marci123 the fact that he is complaining about the deletion would suggest that he didnt delete his own post. that is the kind of misunderstandings that can cause just deleting a post hehe. @mdekker yeah rules would be nice, if a mod deletes a post just an edit saying, "Edit: Post is not in english" would have dispelled a lot of misunderstandings. @Traumflug, your answer even though actually logical was what triggered the guy. What we are led to believe as newcomers (as I am) is that this is not the same kind of comunity that we had in Prestashop, here people have the idea that if we say what we want improved in TB we will be listened to. The answer even though accurate just let us know that "nobody cares, go to another place and bother someone else because I cant, he cant and nobody cant do anything about it"... so I think his response was completely understandable given the context of Thirty Bees.
  14. Seeing the post sent by traumflug it must be noted that the way the moderator handled the deletion is incorrect. In most forums the moderator who deletes a user post makes an Edit and shortly explains why the post was deleted... This makes it easy to identify who deleted the post (as to avoid this kind of misunderstandings) and give a clear reason for why so the user doesnt believe it was for personal reasons. Also this types of posts should be moderated in order that only the user and the mods could see it (moved to a password protected part of the forum and give the key to the user as well so that he could check on answers) but I also agree that this kind of public display is childish and doesnt help the comunity at all. :S
  15. Hi! Thanks a lot! I hope this community takes advantage of all the potential that this platform has to offer! Greetings from Dominican Republic!
  16. This is not a bug perse but i think it shoud be handled differently. When importing, if you setup your products to be in a warehouse and that your quantity depends on that stock you cannot manually add a quantity for that product... all good and dandy. the problem comes if you by mistake put a quantity in the import file and also set the "Advanced Stock Management" "Depends on stock" and "Warehouse" settings to true. The CSV validation will say the file is valid but when processing you will get a completely ambigous error: It took me a lot of trial and error to figure out what was happening. I think that a simple check: If the mentioned advanced stock settings are set to true and you are setting a quantity for the product then the file should not be valid and you should get an error as in other cases.
  17. Yeah i was looking for that file on TB but couldnt find it... on PS was on PS/translations/CLDR where is it located in TB?
  18. didnt notice that one, my bad. Where are the defaults configured for Autoformatting? DOP should default to USD formatting.
  19. @yaniv14 not sure where that option is... can you point me to it?
  20. I set up DOP as the store currency and set the formatting settings in BO but in front office those settings are completely ignored.
  21. Excellent, will test. Edit: Confirmed... working correctly now.
  22. I added several custom payment methods each with its own picture. In front office all are shown but all have the same image that belongs to the first payment method.
  23. @lesley wasnt able to but weirdly enough few minutes later the store started working fine... seems like a host error to me... will mark the issue as resolved until further checks are perfomed.
  24. I just opened an Issue on Github found here: Issue #378 I want to verify if this is a problem or just a configuration issue... anybody else experiencing the same? Im hosting on a 1and1.com server.
