Google sitemap and default picture format

By default large_default product pictures are used to generate sitemap. This thumbnail format is not used in my theme, so I do not have such pictures. How can I customize the module to define default product picture format?

I tried with "Check this box if you wish to check the presence of the image files on the server", but it failed with timeout error, too much products / pictures.
