Import large product data

Hello !

I´m not sure wether this goes under "technical help" or "tips and tricks..."

I have a list of 1200+ products in my database I would like to transfer to TB. `Thing is that the columns have different naming and order, category, details...etc.

I could rename and re-arrange the sql to re upload the info to TB, but before starting to deal with the nightmare of trying to find what goes where in the new TB database, I was wondering if someone has any experience on this issue and get some useful tips to save time and energy. Any approach would be welcome. Thanks !

Different column names are no problem as you can assign columns when you import a csv file.

If you want to insert directly into the database you face a big challenge. At the most basic level products and categories are each present in four tables.

So, for the 1200+ products existing in my other database, there is no work around but upload one by one...?

Depends.

If you can export them as csv you can import them as csv. So it depends on your present setup.

There are many tools available that will do the job for you to transfer the data from other webshops. But you will need to provide more details if you want a prescription that fits on your situation.

Where do I go to get the full version of Prestools and how far has it come so far in terms of using it as an integrated plugin inside Thirty bees backend?.

I need whichever version pretty fast.

Quick related question: If one imports a quantity of products via a CSV file how are photos added to the products?

Just provide an url in your csv file and make sure that the image are reachable there.
