Stop home page refreshing after add to cart is clicked

annafjmorris

Question

Hi

Right now (on my test site) when you click "add to cart" on any product on the home page (using the button that drops down) it refreshes the page and takes you back to the top of the page.

I need to stop that happening, it's interfering with a plugin I am using. When add to cart is clicked I just need the page to stay as it is, with the add to cart drop down open (ie: no change at all).

Anyone know how I can do this. Also, out of interest, why does it refresh the page like that, I don't think it happens on the product pages, but I may be wrong).

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's not a prestashop 1.5 theme. We instructed the designer to take the default thirty bees theme and edit it to look like our old theme (prestashop 1.5 default theme modified). It has things in it which look like the thirtybees front end demo though, the way the menu looks and the search bart etc. It's definitely not the same as our 1.5 theme (www.ethical-pets.co.uk).

The thirtybees demo has a modal cart thing which we don't use, we set it to stay on page when product is added to cart in the back officr. I don't have a blank install to check this out on though, but perhaps it's a bug?

Yeah, that sounds possible, we have a thing where the basket image changes when items are put in the cart which doesn't work so well in 1.6 but was fine in 1.5 comma I guess a few things got broken when he added that feature back in. I'll share this thead with him and hopefully we can fix it! Thanks for your help buddy ?

Oh, darn, thats the one I just baught, it's something I really wanted... Out of interest when you say it's poorly written, how bad is it interests when you say it's poorly written, how bad is it? I bought it from the official prestashop store (i am not a fan). I can report the bug I guess....

One thing that might be the cause if I'm not sure if thirty bees is effectively ps 1.6 or 1.6.1?

I am just guessing it is. It might rely on the cart having a set path which has been changed by the theme designer. thirty bees is based of of 1.6.1.10, but diverged pretty well. It should be something the designer can fix pretty easily.
