Because of our (ongoing, but hopefully getting less) ddos attack, I am abviously looking at loads of stuff - that I know very little about
We have a VPS running centos 6.1 on a WHM / Cpanel system
Just had a message saying
MySQL 5.6 5.7 For instructions on how to upgrade “MySQL”, visit https://go.cpanel.net/mysqlup So when i clicked it says that really mariadb is the way to go
So questions are, will mariadb be OK for thirtybees or should I stick with MySQL?
Is there any reason why I should not upgrade at all? Is it safe to upgrade MySql?
If we do upgrade do I need to tell our software anything (thirtybees, a couple of offline prestashops, a couple of wordpress sites)

Follow on from this thread:
We are in the UK, and we have website pro for Paypal. This allows customer to pay by their paypal account or by card, and the payment page is clearly obvious
Currently using the PayPal bodue from PS. Configuration is:
Customer see this:
In the 30bees module we just get a "forbidden" message. If needed I will install again tonight and show the screen, but I don't like to play too much while the site is active.
A couple of thoughts
1) It would be great if the 30bees module had a different name so that both could be installed a the same time. Currently I have to uninstall the PS module to test the 30bees module (we don't have a testbed)
2) In the 30bees module is the "pro" option the same as the PS module? I wondered if in 30bees the "Pro" option is actaully a European version and not allowed on UK sites?

What version of php are you using, what problems are you getting?
PHP 7.0 currently and we get a "forbidden" message. I will set up a new thread as I dont want to hijack this one

This js script makes sure that IntersectionObserver functionality can be used in all browsers, and not only by those that implements this natively. This way, tb code can use this functionality without fear that it will cause runtime errors in your browsers.
In this case it's quite unnecessary, though. The polyfill is loaded by community-theme, but the only code using this functionality is located in back-office forms. So front theme does not help here at all.
I suggest you to remove this from your theme header.tpl -- your shop will load a tiny bit faster.
Thanks, we are using Panda theme so will check on there. But as long as i know it is legit 🙂

We also got attacked recently, but since we are using cloudflare it was quite easy to stop the attack. Maybe cloudflare is interesting for you too.
Yes, possibly. Looks a bit complex though, will the free one be OK?
Would not have a clue how to set it up.

Looks like we are being targetted by a ddos attack. So I am doing some digging around. Installed csf on WHM and out of the box it seems to be doing some good, not that I havea clue about these things
Anyway, the real question. I am digging around to ensure we do not have any nasties lying around. I noticed this line in the page source
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://polyfill.io/v2/polyfill.min.js?features=IntersectionObserver"></script>
I have no idea what that is. Is it a thirtyBees addition?

We get issues with Website Pro enabled so can't use the module. Not sure if it is PHP related though (Geta forbidden message)

Hi @lesley
Anyone had messages from PayPal about PSD2?
We are currently using the PS module because of issues with the 30bees module, but the questions are the same
In the module we are using the iframe option with Website Payments pro.
This allows customes to enter their card details "on our site" but is it really our site or PayPal.
So i suppose the questions are
Are we classed as "hosted" so nothing to do, or "direct" so your module or another solution wil have to enable 3DS
-
But we are UK. 😒
-
We also get forbidden message with the latest module version. For us it is linked to PayPal Pro, but that is the system we need so we can accept payment by card.
I have switched off and reverted to the PS module instead.

Had a look and there is indeed a update, will give it s shot this weekend , I gather it is just an un-install and reinstall
Not sure, perhaps even install over the top.
because it was not working I contact them and they did the update so not sure what was involved

We have used Knowband OPC and presteam OPC with the panda theme.
TB 1.08 seemed to break knowband but they have now fixed it and upgraded to 5.06 version. All seems to be well now But while they were fixing that I tried the prestateam one and it is fab
https://www.presteamshop.com/en/modules-prestashop/one-page-checkout-prestashop.html
Both support teams have been excellent to help with our specific needs, and also done small alterations as part of the general support. For example they have embedded the crafty clicks address lookup module for us, and put the current stock level of items in the cart
Impressed with both, but I think we are sticking with presteams now

Solved. Some indexes were missing.
Can you explain more? I would have thought the installaion would automatically set all the correct indexes.
Our site is a little slow, so how would i check those indexes and correct them?
-
You could as if this module is compatable
https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/second-price-prestashop-module-show-tax-included-tax-excluded-price
-
We are only slighly seasonal. We manufacture pipe support systems such as u-bolts. So yes, busier in the warmer days, but not seen a drop like that before.
Unfortunately our OPC module has just bombed so in a bit of a panic 😞

So it looks like the consenus is Google have changed something and probably nothing we can do. It must just be how they are collating the data because I don;t see any drop off in real terms on the site

Are your urls are working as before or did you make a change in the structure?
URLs are the same structure - all the pages are still indexed and work correctly from there
30 minutes ago, colorful-ant said:I suspect that it can have many causes.
If, for example, your links to social networks compare, do these links to the products still work, are the images still displayed?
If the SEO data after the change to TB still exist, they may have to be re-entered?
Probably there is also a problem with the template, that Google previously looked at this better than now.
Have the page load times got worse? (possibly at the same time a server change)
etc
No social links really. SEO data was carried across and is the same. Template is a little slower - probably because of the Advanced Search 4 module which is not strictly TB compatable and I find this is slower. On PS we hade expresscache installed but this is not compatable with thirty bees so stuck with the speed as it is really
-
So, is this coincidence or cause and effect?
We migrated from PS1.6 to thirtybees on the 4th December
Since that date we have seen a drastic reduction in Google websearch. Sitemaps are all OK, and the webpages are still indexed. We have never paid for clicks so that is not relevant. As far as I can tell, we have not lost any visitors. Any ideas? clicks

It's a per-country setting, so one finds a switch to turn this label on and off on back office -> Localization -> Countries, then click on the country, then near the bottom.
For displaying both prices one needs a module.
Is that not just to DISPLAY the label? It does not alter the price being seen. For that you need the group setting??
-
Hi Simon
By default it one or the other (using the customer group). I think you will need a modification or module to display both
The difficulty though that even with group a visitor will see the vistitor price. Existing customers will only see the group price when logged in

We use knowband one page checkout. It shows all the relevant payment methods and carriers which automatically change. So for example as soon as the potential customer chooses "Japan" for the country then everything changes to be relevant to them. Switch the country to UK and add a postcode and everything changes again.
This is all done live and does not require any account creation first.
If you want to have a look to see how it works go to our website at www.u-bolts-r-us.co.uk add something to cart and then on the cart page you can play with the address at the left hand side to see what changes.
To be honest I have not tried with different payment methods linked to countries, but works just fine for carriers

Yes, I agree. Whenever I visit a website with sliders the first thing i do is scroll down the page to see what I really came to see

Its funny. Copying the red formatted text from forum into field gives error,
but copying same text from thirtybees other instalation gives green ok.
Let me try once again without red formatting.
[{shop_name}] {subject}p.s.
Exactly. Pasting Red formatted text into field with ctrl+v gives red error, but pasting red formated text with ctrl+shift+v gives no error.
Weird - but it has worked. Many thanks for your help

Thanks. On a slow site, 5% can help. Any dangers with allowing the upgrade to go ahead?
