  1. The favicon now seems to be working in Chrome on Windows but not in Firefox yet. So something changed somewhere... I'm really thinking it's a file format issue and that Chrome and Firefox read the .ico file differently.
  2. When I download the file from https://www.host-thirty.com/img/favicon.ico?1495711295 and open it with IcoFX it says it's a gif image with a size of 125x125.
  3. @Havouza said in Front office favicon: I uploaded my own in the image folder but it does not change anything Well it changed "something"... The direct link to your favicon now returns a big question mark image I think there might be a problem with your favicon file format.
  4. When I look at the rendering code for host-thirty I see this: <link rel="icon" type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon" href="/img/favicon.ico?1495711295"> <link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="/img/favicon.ico?1495711295"> Yet when I look at the the referenced favicon file I see the original 30bz favicon: https://www.host-thirty.com/img/favicon.ico?1495711295 The image type for the "icon" line of HTML is odd but I'm not sure if it's acceptable or not. Something is definitely wrong somewhere. Edit: Changed link to be exactly the same as the one used in the 30bz code.
  5. Favicons don't have to be .ico format anymore but depending on the code used for the rendered pages there could be issues with non .ico files. Right now on host-thirty.com I see the following: Chrome on Windows: Original 30bz favicon Firefox on Windows: Question mark iOS 10.3 on 7 Plus: Question mark Chrome on Nexus 7: Original 30bz favicon Maybe it's a file format issue? Try changing it to a .ico file and see if that works?
  6. Sorry @Havouza, this VM is having DNS problems right now.
  7. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, an iPad Mini 2, a Nexus 7 2013, and use Win10 + Chrome + Firefox for my desktop. A decent mix for testing. @Havouza, your site seems to be down right now but if you let me know when it's up I'll clear cache and visit on each device/browser.
  8. Maybe it's a file format issue? @mdekker, what filetype is used for the standard favicon? @Havouza, what filetype did you use for the favicon that isn't working on your site?
  9. You've really got BRAD working nicely on your shop, the search results are super fast and I still love the BRAD drop-down list design with the mini thumbnails in it. I wasn't using any filters with BRAD either, I just installed it on 30bz in the default configuration. It seemed to work but it also seemed to have some compatibility issues, and the search results weren't optimized in the default installation. I may still monkey around with BRAD a bit and see if I can figure out what's going on but for now I have some other stuff I have to take care of, unfortunately.
  10. Thank you @okom3pom for that information. Is this with PS or on 30bz? I found when I had the BRAD module installed on 30bz some category pages seemed to not load correctly. When I disabled & removed it things were okay. I didn't spend time checking out why that was though. I'm also curious if either @mdekker or @lesley is able to comment on how things are progressing with 30bz search and what sort of direction they have decided to go. In particular, Algolia, Elasticsearch, both, neither, or something else...?
  11. You can use different warehouses for different shipping requirements. In this case you assign the items to a warehouse and they will use the shipping options available to that warehouse. Beware however that if your customers have items in their shopping cart that do not share a common carrier then PS (and 30bz) will not properly display shipping options. The shipping module does not handle this properly, unfortunately.
  12. I would imagine that "shutting off most things" just means creating a "demo account" user with most permissions unchecked.
  13. @Havouza said in PS addon demosite: So you mean that every developer has a shop site that looks exactly the same. Then it must be a special version that PS provide. If they all use the included default PS theme then they're all going to look the same. I would expect everyone to use the default theme, why do anything else? Edit: Could very well be a PS store requirement to use the default theme for demo stores. Not sure, never built & sold a theme.
  14. We definitely want everyone to see that the PDF manuals are available and that they are free. I was just going to create blog posts with the download links and use them as a way to market the stores. However then I got the idea that it would be nice to at least get a registration in return for something that isn't available anywhere else and that provides considerable value to the person downloading it. These are $300 to $1200 products that most people can't use beyond the basic functions due to lack of an English manual, so there is a definite demand out there.
  15. But feature to force customer with custom messages about attributes is not that complicated … Well I know that 30bz welcomes contributions so perhaps you could whip something up?
  16. As I said, it's not a perfect solution but certainly it's better than shipping the wrong order to customers or having to call customers to confirm their order. I found this feature request talking about the performance of the current attribute system. That definitely needs to be fixed too and there seems to be plans to do so. There's no search system for the feature suggestions though which makes it very hard to find anything at all. Are there any other feature suggestions related to this topic?
  17. @MockoB said in Force customer to chose attribute: Let's say I have three attributes to chose between, it would be nice to show the customer which attribute to chose in the message as the above example in AE. And what if I'd like to force the customer to chose the quantity? This type of description should go into your feature request so the devs have them in mind when designing the feature. @Traumflug's suggestion isn't a complete fix for this bad PS design but it will help avoid customers not bothering to choose color, size, etc. It's definitely a big improvement over what PS opted for.
  18. @Traumflug said in Force customer to chose attribute: Trick #412: Add (please choose) as the first attribute and set available quantity with this attribute to zero. This way a customer can't order the default combination by accident. Adding such a first choice is obviously a worthwhile feature request: https://thirtybees.com/feature-request/ This is a genius workaround for an odd design choice made by PS.
  19. Wow, PS (and by extension 30bz I guess) doesn't force the user to make choices when there are variations to choose from? What happens when a customer doesn't make a choice? I can see this as being a pretty big problem for any store with a lot of variations.
  20. Yup, I think all those demo sites are just a standard PS install with the module installed, and usually some backoffice features removed or disabled so guests can't mess things up too much. The dev usually keeps a backup of the demo store and periodically restores it so that things don't get too far out of hand with demo data / tests entered by various potential customers.
  21. I have set up the ImageMagick module and uploaded ~1100 products to a dev site, along with ~2500 photos. How do I know if the images were processed by ImageMagick or not? I ask because the version of IM offered by Cloudways is older than the version required by the module. In my opinion it should work as the biggest difference is a security fix that Cloudways have patched but different versions are still different versions. So is there any way to know if the module is operating correctly and doing the image processing?
  22. Hmm, interesting. So these wouldn't end up being product pages but something else...? In that case it would probably be best to have each one in a blog post with a write-up about the manual, I guess. Either that or have a separate CMS page for each manual, something along those lines. So that brings us to your question to @mdekker, is it possible to do something along the lines of what @wakabayashi suggests? I expect these manuals will drive quite a lot of traffic to our sites as there are many people who bought these products without realizing they wouldn't get a manual they could understand. There are lots of forum threads about people looking for manuals, that sort of thing.
  23. Yes, the PDFs are free, but some of them exceed 60MB in size which is quite a bit of size if a lot of people decide to download. As such we would like there to be registration in order to download the file. Helps avoid bot downloads, too. I'm not that familiar with how the templates on 30bz/PS work but I assume using {$logged} would be a way to force registration to use a download button, or something similar?
  24. We have a few electronic delivery products (PDFs) that we would like to give away to customers but in exchange we would like them to register on our website. The PDFs are English manuals for some popular products, and we did the translations in-house. These manuals are not available anywhere else in English. They will be the only electronic delivery items on the site. Is there any way to require registration for these items while allowing guest checkout for everything else?
  25. (For PayPal this is for the express checkout and eBay checkout systems. If someone is using PayPal to process credit cards directly then of course not a problem. My guess is that it would be something similar for Payza.)
