Fav Icons not working

The iPhone and iPad favicons don't seem to be working....

@SLiCK_303 I'll keep both your bookmarks on my iPhone which is synced with my iPad mini 3.

For Safari the camera icon is there for your, Michael's and my bookmarks on both iDevices. I'll let you know when it changes.

In Google Chrome you and I have a capital letter but Michael's site has his favicon.

On Chrome in my mobile bookmarks in the bookmarks list, we all have the icons.

What does it show and what ios / iphone version are you using?

It's still the camera icon we posted above with @alwayspaws. iOS 10.3.3 but I'm pretty sure it's not the iOS version faulty. But if you tell I could check on iOS 11.

For example the forum favicon shows properly, although it is not as sharp as the github favicon, it is blurry. Maybe you should upload higher resolution favicon.

Can you try again now, you might have to clear the device cache, I have made a change.

Still the same, deleted and added it again. But it could take few minutes for the icon to update. I'll inform you if anything changes.

iPhone 6 iOS version 11.2.2

I deleted the bookmarks, cleared all Safari cache and added @SLiCK_303 and mine back again. Still have camera icons. While creating the bookmark it showed a camera icon before even saving it. Note the timestamps of my images.

Little update. The icon saves fine when added to home screen but not when added to favorites. Just the transparency is gone and black background is added instead (normal for iOS devices). If it is of any relevance some of the favicons in my favorites are capital letters, some are question mark and only thirty bees stores are with camera icon. Here is what I just read: https://mathiasbynens.be/notes/touch-icons the author suggest adding the apple touch icons without any HTML. Just drop the image in the root folder as I understand it.

What did you do to make it work? Did the favicons update automatically on your iPad?

My iPhone still has camera icons.
