Tomik Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Is there a way i can hide EOL products for example or just delete them completely to clean up my BO. or will that be a problem with old orders/clients. Or any other suggestions? like having a filter to show only active products.
lesley Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 You can delete them or disable them. I personally like to leave them, then add a button in the description to the new model.
Tomik Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 but there is no way to disable the products and hide them from the back office.
lesley Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Ahh the backoffice, you are right. Thats just something I guess you have to deal with. Most major retailers leave their products enabled for ever, maybe you can sort by stock quantity or something.
Gotabor Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 If you disable your products, use the 301 redirect if you have a new/similar product. That way it will help to rank the new product. As for deleting the product, I don't think it would affect the orders since there is the order_detail table that keep infos like product name, reference, price, etc. for each order. But to be on the safe side, disable is fine. For the back office display, simply use the product status filter. That way you can show only the activated products.
