Question

I keep getting Inode warnings that I'm over my limit, and my hosting company says it's coming from ThirtyBees.
It's the cache here...

With the Template compilation, right now it's marked as shown in the image.
What would happen if I had it set with NEVER RECOMPILE TEMPLATE FILES?

Would that solve the Inode issue? It goes from 30% full to 110%  in a matter of days.

I assume I need the cache set to YES, right?

How does the Inodes increase so much when I don't add new items?

The only option they're giving me is to up my hosting plan, which I can't do as it's an insane monthly rate.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Could you check how many files you have in /themes/YOUR_THEME/cache/ ?

Your config here is optimal. If down the page you turn on 'Keep JS and CSS files' you might get some files but definitely not in the scope you refer to.

If you set it to Never recompile it will wait for you to clear your cache. Currently as you have it if you make a change on your shop (theme, translation, etc.) the system will most likely catch the majority of them and invalidate the old cache. But in practice the Clear cache button is still needed sometimes.

My hosting company isn't showing me a total when I open that folder.
What should I be looking for - and why would it increase?

The contents of this folder gradually increase over time if you have that setting ON. The system keeps old combined css and js files to speed the visits of returning customers.

If you have FTP client you can easily select all files in the folder and see their number and size.

You'd think. But not with these guys. There is literally no option to do so without downloading it all.

I've sent them a message and will update when they reply.

If you host won't give you a lot memory and restricts your access have a look for a new host.
The market is in your favor. Webhostingtalk has a lot of offers with discounts.

I’ve just renewed for three years: that’s a big chunk of money to kiss away.

If they can give you the numbers it would be lot easier if they can say where those files are accumulating.

The cache is not your issue.

Oh... now I saw that you're caching on your file system.

Clearing the cache at the same page should alleviate some of those files but they will gradually return as people/bots visit your site.

You had an issue with something, that was preventing you from updating your thirty bees, if I remember correctly?

Because in the newer versions (1.4 I believe) there is another option in this section that allows caching on your server side cache which is faster and will solve your issue.
