@spidawebs I agree. I took the old one from PS. Simple but works OK.

I can't do that. We work with drop shippers and get the images in zip files that I download and unzip in one folder with a PHP script every 3rd day with cron. Then I use XML to create or update the products and it takes the pictures from that folder.

One thing that has got me very close to change platform is PS image handling. From the second you add a product, manually or by import, the images disappear in a mysterious web of folders and changed names. Impossible to find again. We have many categories with clothes where the product has many images. If someone is missing for some reason it is impossible to find out which. I can only pray that this is one of the developments that TB will do to go back to a more simple system. I can't see one reason for the one that is today

I have given up the csv upload and use a module I bought for PS. can also import excel which is easier to handle in my opinion.

The import worked without a problem but it imported all categories as parents and instead of the 7 parents I use I got all 134 on the same level. I now use a module called Fast Import from Denmark and it works perfectly after some developer tweaking

I have the same thoughts, prices are crazy but mostly because PS want a big piece of the cake. I try to find modules from other sources, codecanyon is one of them. We used Opencart before and the plugins were so much cheaper. It is almost hopeless to get refunds from PS, I am fighting one case now and has escalated it to a claim on Paypal, but we will see. Paypal has never been good at resolving issues when it is software and nothing is sent with snail mail. The developer I fight with just don't answer emails, not a sound. It is a module for 130 € and I don't want to loose them. I had a long conversation on mail with the developer BEFORE I bought, also sent him test files to be sure it worked. And I got back that it was no problem. But when it did NOT work, the support is silent

Pictures you can only add in the post if you use the Reply button, not Quick Replay. There is a button top right to use. Second from the right Yes the whole folder. Then you need to install it from BO

I hope that TB 2.0 make most of this history. It will break backward compatibility but at least the users will be aware and hopefully a part of the process. Windows has suffered from the backward compatibility guarantee for many many years

I think mine cover that and much more. There is not a word about guest account

Everything can be done, the practical and legal problems are something else. The other possibility is to really state for the Guest customers what is saved about them

I know how sensitive our products still are for the customers year 2017. And all statistics show that guest checkout gives more business. But I want it to be real guest checkout, that take away the customer info when the order is delivered

It would be a BIG mistake for us to disable it. But we will make it more as I want it to be

If there is some interest I will ask my Sri Lanka developer what he can do. He do a lot of scripts for me to automate everything

There is a module that take away orders. It is even free I think. Made by third party I dont remeber who now. Its called deleteorders free. But you can be right about the legality

That is not the question. It would be possible to delete the info let say when status is delivered. And the only difference in time is what it take to write a password. But anyhow. I think that about 75% of my customers use the guest account possibility. If you look at my shop you see why. I have not asked but I am quite convinced that they are somehow anonymous when they have bought, That nothing is saved about them that can be misused in some way. But there is no real difference. They are all saved in the account table, the only difference is that they are flagged as a guest account and no password is saved. But it would be very easy to get all the info about them. It's a hypothetical discussion but interesting

There is a db structure difference. The second product db would not be necessary if the multi possibility was not there. or the code to automatically copy from one table to another when products are added
