30knees Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 We've noticed that the meta title and description aren't being indexed by Google. Has anyone else noticed this or has an idea what the problem could be?
MockoB Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 ...we may try to generate an improved title from anchors, on-page text, or other sources. However, sometimes even pages with well-formulated, concise, descriptive titles will end up with different titles in our search results to better indicate their relevance to the query. There’s a simple reason for this: the title tag as specified by a webmaster is limited to being static, fixed regardless of the query... Google may decide whether to use or not your title and description. But it will be nice if someone else with running tb store share his experience also, because it could be a bug. What does the structure data testing tool says about your title and description?
lesley Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Meta tags are hit or miss to be honest. There is no SEO value what so ever in a meta description. The title is generally indexed, but Google changes them on the fly as well. They sometimes change them to align more with the term being searched to improve the click-through rate.
30knees Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 It looks like the changes by Google might be the issue. The testing tool is showing the meta tags. Thanks, guys!
