How disappointing. All the efforts to move thirty bees code to Guzzle, and now this: one of the other dependencies doesn't use it.

Why it suddenly show up. Nothing in software has changed the last 6 month

That's not software issue, this is server configuration issue. Your server does not have curl library installed

So you mean it had worked without it for six months? We have changed status a couple of hundred times in that time

There are only few explanations

• your server settings has changed (maybe you have started using new php version, etc)
• code never went into this particular branch (pdf generation)

But I have now installed curl so we have to see. It was not installed

Well, the issue comes from pdf generation tool. It's possible that you have recently changed order status and it now newly generates invoice. Another possibility is that you have modified pdf templates, and added reference to remote image.
