Prouct Removal

Hi

Yesterday I had to remove a few from my products and someone has tried to look at the page of 1 of them now...I see it looks like the image below.

OK can't upload image as getting error message but says ,in a pinkish box

There is 1 error

1. This product is no longer available.

That's normal behaviour if some one access disabled/removed product with direct link.

I thought it would say product not found please use search ,or something similar

If you have removed the product from BO (in contrast to disabling it) you can use .htaccess redirect to 301 redirect the old nonfunctioning address to something similar or to category page where it was located. Alternative is to redirect to homepage.

If the product is disabled but present in BO you can make the redirect from product page.

 

This is better(ish) for SEO and better for user experience.
