Is there a "save cart for later" option? If not, should I put in a feature request? I know a lot of shoppers are interrupted with work (smile) & need to come back later, tomorrow or next week.

Thanks!

@lesley that's good to know. Sometimes I start shopping on my iPhone and when I want to continue on my desktop the cart is empty for other websites. That was my concern.

It won't remember carts across devices because it uses cookies on whichever device you are using. If you save the item to a wishlist on your phone it will remember it when you login with your desktop though.

That's interesting. I tried it with my android phone and my laptop and it didn't remember the cart even though I was logged in on both devices.

Well I tried it again. When I logged in before I logged in using PayPal (same paypal account) and it did not remember the cart. This time I logged in directly using email and password and this time it remembered the cart.

The whole point of my asking this question is because I want to be able to use abandoned cart emails to remind them.

I need and option the customer can select to save their cart which I actually use on other websites because I know that I'm going to be interrupted. I want something that will let them save their cart wherever they are. Nobody is going to know to log into PayPal or log into my site to have the cart saved.

I like this idea too. Does the admin/preferences/ lifetime of cookie setting show abandoned cart items if set long enough?

@vzex I don't have my desktop right now and don't want to struggle with my iPhone to find it but I vaguely remember something about 360 minutes maximum which is what I don't like.

@mdekker said in Do we have a "save cart for later" option?:

It might have allocated two carts to separate devices. It kind of depends. Wish I knew more about this behavior, so I could figure out why it does that.

Can we please have a feature or a module or something that will work with the abandoned cart feature I've seen but never used? IWe can't use it unless they have an abandoned cart that they saved. LOL

How often to people create an account when they're browsing the website and putting things in the cart? Not very often.

i saw a website link that says "save your cart now" so where can I put that where they'll see it? And can they do that without setting up a complete account?

Even a cart with that feature cannot use abandoned cart reminders, they have no clue of what the customer email address is at that point.
