spidawebs Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @alwayspaws No, I was looking at your test site, and it was working fine
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @spidawebs This is working fine to you? https://prestatest.alwayspaws.com/ I don't see any top categories and dog lovers jewelry is a subcategory of home. If you click the slides you get to my live site so you can't go by that. Please give me a screenshot of what you are seeing on the homepage? I'd appreciate it. Thanks !
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 I see it also. Home you should not see. You should see dog lovers jewlery and the other parents should be top levels as they are. If you use home, there will be only one category on the menu, and all others will be subs
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @spidawebs - we wrote at the same time. Please see my post directly above. Thanks!
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 You have to add every parent tree in the menu, then they will show up.
spidawebs Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @alwayspaws it seems to be working exactly as it should though? Just repeat what you have done for all the other categories
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 @spidawebs I am sure it works as it should now.
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Dog lovers jewelry is missing a subcategory. I'll look into that.
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Your TB site show one parent category and its subs. You have probably not configured more in the menu.
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Because I don't know how. I use the same category import spreadsheet for my live site and TB
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Has nothing to do with eachother. The top menu must be configured. You managed one category, do the same with the rest
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @Havouza said in Category import csv: @spidawebs I am sure it works as it should now. @Havouza said in Category import csv: @spidawebs I am sure it works as it should now. Jewelry is not my major category - dog clothing is.
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Then you have made a mistake when creating the first parent
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 you have put in wrong category id when you created the first one
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @Havouza said in Category import csv: Has nothing to do with eachother. The top menu must be configured. You managed one category, do the same with the rest I didn't manage that category. That's the only one that is showing up. I compared my live site admin with my TB admin for arranging and rearranging horizontal top menu categories because I thought I could get the information from the live site and just copy it but it's completely different.
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Ofc it is different. Go in the BO/Catalog/Categories. Each parent category has an ID to the left. Use that Id when you create each top category The rest you see on the form
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Maybe I should delete all the categories and products and upload them again.
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 It will not help. The categories is correct in the system, you just refuse to understand when I explain what you should do
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 The id on the csv is probably not the same as in the shop
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I selected category list & then my categories should show up. I didn't realize I had to enter them manually.
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @Havouza said in Category import csv: The id on the csv is probably not the same as in the shop Yes, I understand that.
Havouza Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Can you please do exactly as I say. Go to Back Office Go to Catalog/Categories in the menu Now you will se your parent categories and their ID
alwayspaws Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 @Havouza Yes, sir. :) I did that and I can see the list of categories and IDs. Next I went to the page of the categories block so that I could adjust them but it had been turned off because it was the only way to get rid of the categories in the footer.
