Automatic language translation module recommendations

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Did your module translate on the fly? Because some I looked at save the translations like in a manual entry, so I'd not expect the site to become slower.

Nope, it was sitting in the footer and visitor chooses the translation language from a drop down. The slowness comes from the external (google) scripts that are called on every page.

For me not a necessity if every modern browser (even mobile) has 'Translate to:' function.

OK, those modules are not that nice, in my opinion.

We want to use DeepL, which has excellent translation, to bulk translate all product descriptions. They'll be saved and indexed by search engines (I'm not sure that happens with the other type of module you used). Also, we'll be able to polish the translations of those languages we speak.

I have had this idea too. But for our store it's not a top priority, that's why I never have looked deeper into it.

I can only say, that I would do it, like you: saving the translation "normally" in BO and refresh when the main language is updated. Deepl is probably the best translation. So your plan sounds good to me 😉

Does anyone use an automatic language translation module that uses eg DeepL or Google Translate and that they can recommend (or would recommend against)? I'm interested in using such a tool to expand our customer reach. There are a couple of modules on the marketplace: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/search?search_query=deepl&compatibility=1.6.1&

This module works properly with thirty bees: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/international-localization/19662-autotranslator.html
Module has no effect on speed of front office, because it works only in back office saving translations to database.
I am currently doing a migration of four multishop stores from prestashop to thirty bees. Stores in four languages: Polish, English, German and French. Contents of French and German stores were translated with this module using DeepL API.
Stores are still on development environment:
https://devde.moremannequins.pl/
https://devfr.moremannequins.pl/

On other hand, usefulness of these modules doing site translation "on the fly" using google translate is nil. Content in any foreign language does not exist in store, also search engines will not index even one word from foreign languages for us. These modules just slow down our store front office terribly.

Thank you but unfortuntately it doesn't for me. A lot of products fail to translate for some reason and the module is throwing lots of errors. I'm asking whether they'll cancel/refund the order. It also doesn't translate everything in the store.

Rather, such modules that translate 100% of content of the store, it does not exist.
On other hand, when translating data that this module handles, I did not have any errors.

They fixed some issues that were preventing the translation for some products. It's working fine now.

I'm selling the module at half price in case anyone is interested, so 56 Euro. I'll transfer the module license via Prestashop Marketplace to you.

I would not buy anything ruzzian these days. Security and moral-wise....
And never use yandex for anything (OCR service, search engine, etc) - they are really closely tied to ruzz gov...
