    However overrides are good if one can use them. And keep in mind when updating, to check if the file that was ment to override has changed or not.

    And what is most important, when bug appears, one should disable them to find if bug is override related (user-made-bug) or it's a true bug in core.

     

    But, its always better to minimize the use of overrides if possible.

    I for instance now use only 3 overrides:

    Front ContactController.php to not send the copy of contact form message to the senders email, (I find no other options to prevent sending that email copy)

    Front OrderController.php for 3 page checkout (assigning carrier into address tpl)

    Admin AdminPaymentController.php to display additional section with Active Countries Restrictions.

    Last one is used only temporary as its corona related because carrier changes its shipping blocklist every week.

    HTML Block & displayPayments

    HTML Block registers into various hooks during installation.

    One of them is displayPaments.

    However, when manually creating order from backoffice, one can choose HTML Block as payment method as it's registered into mentioned hook.

    I left that server, as in my opinion that discussion is not going into any usable direction.

    There are better ways spending time than reading a debate that leads nowhere 🙂

    For same reason (accounting) I renamed "Invoice" to "Order Confirmation" everywhere where customer could see it, but have "Invoices" enabled to use it as printout for packing orders and user can download it for review.

    When you have tracking number from any carrier, just go to its site and enter the tracking number.

    If their system shows the number also in their http://nameyour.mail.com/somethingTRACKINGNRsomethingxyz

    than copy that url to your Carrier "Carrier Settings / tracking url" and replace TRACKINGNR with @ so it will look like this:

    http://nameyour.mail.com/something@somethingxyz

    Then everytime you add tracking nr to the order the customer will get the link which will open the tracking directly on carriers website.

    I've decided to duplicate BlockCategories module so for mobile menu BlockCategoriesMobile is used.

    BlockCategoriesMobile hooks itself into right column which is used for left sidebar on screen width up to 767px

    That way one can set the copmputer Category root view independently of mobile view where Category root - home is the only option so categories are visible on any page by accessing navbar icon which opens sidebar.

    Same here, but from time to time I like to comment something, or ask if I cant find the answer.

    I was wondering how come you have not registered before, as being heavy user you've most likely have had some issues or suggestions regarding the modification.

    As now it seems that account was created just to post reply in this thread without any preexisting presence in forum.

    Regarding taking over TB. For qualify for that option, user needs to have at least 650 posts on forum
