30knees Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 If one has a shop selling widgets and fidgets under the domain shop.com, does it make sense from a SEO perspective to have either Domains widgets.com and fidgets.com that redirect to shop.com? or Domains widgets.com and fidgets.com with their own tb multi-shop only displaying these products/categories?
Nathan Howard Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I would advise multi-shop. It is definitely better for SEO than alternative domains + much more comfortable for a store admin to manage, if, of course, your ecommerce platform provides for multistore management, like Magento.
rubben1985 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Option 1 doesn't work from a SEO perspective. If it redirects (301), search engines will not take into account the keyword domains (only the shop.com)

I did not realize what you said until Traumflug pointed it out. Thirtybees works like a charm in multistore (We are using multistore ourselves) so no need for a so much expensive platform like Magento. Edited May 25, 2019 by rubben1985
