Yabber Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 This module does not comply with current EU law, which requires a cookie manager installed, where the customer chooses which cookies to allow and which not to allow. So something like this: https://optlasers.com/

the.rampage.rado Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 You can try https://github.com/tagconcierge/tc-prestashop-gtm-consent-mode-banner-free I'm using it. The only drawback is that is not multilingual but if you have a 2+ lang site you can use their paid module. I downloaded the js files and modified the code to work locally and everything in Google is OK so far. 1

If so, how did you integrate the banner and GTM so the banner blocks GTM until consented?

For analytics and statistics, I don't use any google apps like GTM or GA4 in the store, because these apps consist of nothing but errors and are completely worthless. I have the store integrated with Matomo in server-side mode without running any JS scripts on the front-end and without saving any cookies. And in Matomo I have 100% reliable data.
30knees Posted yesterday at 06:46 AM Posted yesterday at 06:46 AM I'm also using Matomo. The ad agency will pass data from Matomo to Google. They wrote this to explain why GTM is still necessary. What do you think? Quote To implement tracking, you must integrate the Google Tag Manager (GTM) code on your website. GTM allows us to manage Google Ads, Analytics, and other tracking services centrally and flexibly. Even if you are currently using Matomo for web analytics, integrating GTM is useful and necessary for the following reasons: • Google Ads Conversion Tracking: In order for Google to accurately measure conversions such as purchases and automatically optimize campaigns, a Google Ads Conversion Tag must be integrated via GTM. • Central management of all marketing tags: Future tools or changes can also be easily implemented via GTM – without direct access to the website code. • Clean separation: Matomo will continue to be used for your internal analysis – GTM will be used exclusively for advertising tracking and technical interfaces.
Yabber Posted yesterday at 08:28 AM Posted yesterday at 08:28 AM Unfortunately, but in order to track google Ads retargeting, it is necessary to add a GTM tag in the store. And about GTM integration with this cookie module it is best to ask the developer of this module. I don't buy any ads from google and have no need to do such integration. 1
