Sorry, I didn't write my question clear enough. With hypothetical I meant something different. I wanted to ask, if you have some specific Dev in mind? Cause for me it's not so easy to find someone similair to @datakick. Of course there are some Prestashop devs out there, who would like to get the job. But I need someone who is really a powerful dev, that writes clean, maintanable and secure code.

    Hi @wakabayashi

If you're still looking for somebody that is strong and reliable, you can DM me. I know a very good module developer. He's not a Core developer though, but is very good nonetheless.

This is just hypothetical, right? Or do you have any powerful prestashop/thirtybees in mind? Cause my company is steadily growing and I am considering hiring a full time dev. If I can find a suitable person. He would ofc also contribute to the core.

We'd like to get to this point, so it's not hypothetical. But right now it feels a bit far away. It would help if more of the community members jump in and support TB, so we can actually achieve this and make TB even better.

Perhaps they can be encouraged a bit on that post by members who support and believe in this project?

  3. Petr is around and working on TB stuff (some stuff may not be visible in GitHub). He is about to go on leave soon for 3 weeks.
I'm curious though (perhaps I'm in a cheeky mood), if the Trusted Members here have seen this post?

If we constantly worry about TB being dead, maybe we should try to do something? Like help if we haven't already?
And if we have helped already (which is sincerely appreciated and awesome), maybe we can make a post there and encourage others to do the same?
And maybe just maybe we can get another Petr or two or three + some new features, bug fixes, and other cool stuff while we're at it?

That kind of help I did not mean. Spreading the word and getting a lot of visitors but no installs.
    Do you use YT?

That kind of help is what we need as well. Especially with things like YT, expanding developer resources for maintenance and new features and supporting the day-to-day running of TB, etc. If you have some ideas how you can help, you're welcome to DM me. Thank you 👍

If you need a hand, feel free to contact 😉

We've noticed on this thread, that there are some interest in people wanting to find out how they can help ThirtyBees.
Over and above the below, we are currently working on some ideas on how to get the community more involved and to help even more.
In the meantime, if you want to lend a helping hand, please see below:

    How to help ThirtyBees:

    • Leave a Review on TrustPilot: If ThirtyBees has helped your business, we’d love for you to share your experience. Positive reviews on TrustPilot not only help us reach more people but also build trust within the community.
    • Support Us with a Donation or become a Supporter: Your contributions will directly help us bring more developers on board, enhance the platform, and support our growing user base. Every little bit counts, and it all goes back into making ThirtyBees even better.
    • Spread the Word: Tell your friends, colleagues, and fellow entrepreneurs about ThirtyBees. Your endorsement is the most powerful tool we have to grow our community.
    • Continue to Engage with Us and other Users in the Forum: Share your ideas and feedback, continue to help others like you always have. ThirtyBees thrives on the input and energy of our community. We love and appreciate that you are here! You are what makes ThirtyBees great!

I agree and disagree, support you have, might not be enough (for you) but mainly it needs willing and a lot of it.
Reach out to many more design outfits and say hello, bring forward all the strength TB holds and offer something.
Something like an introduction, a few hours of support if it is something the forum cannot solve.

Thank you for your opinion. As always, there's some truth in both opinions. There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes at ThirtyBees that's been in play for months now as we've been (slowly but steadily) working on re-invigorating the project and attempting to encourage more support. Stuff like outreach to developers, and campaigns for visibility and more. Things that are not immediately visible, but things that are definitely happening. Willingness there is and a lot of it too.

Thank you for the support and for using ThirtyBees 🏆👍

My concern with thirtybees is that is strongly tied to PS 1.6. PS 1.6 is becoming increasingly obsolete. I am grateful to datakick for keeping this project technically alive but without thirty party support (modules, etc) I don't understand how our user base should grow. Which means we're on life support and only users who are happy to customise extensively and have custom modules etc. will continue to use it ... until perhaps they don't anymore because certain expected features are unavailable. We do have premium modules but they aren't exactly attractive and would make me want to be a subscribing user.

In our opinion, ThirtyBees is getting stronger, albeit very slowly. We've had more users coming on board, new sites being created, and new modules added and our recent campaigns have had some success in getting reviews etc. which are certainly better than some recent reviews for some other platforms that we're not going to mention here, even with version 8 or whatnot.

The problem is that it's kinda the classic "chicken and egg" scenario - we need more support and more users in order to grow and to attract more module developers etc, which will hopefully grow the userbase even more. More support will also enable us to employ more developers and develop more features. The main problem is funding - and support. With it we we can reach the stars. The alternative is a slow battle, and it takes guts, passion, a dash of insanity and lots of time with limited resources to get there. But we're not dead or in a coma or 'life support' yet. On the contrary, our pulse is getting stronger and for it to get even stronger, we need more of the community to stand by ThirtyBees and lend us their support - so we can literally do more and make ThirtyBees thrive and be there for the community. Chicken and egg. The community needs ThirtyBees and ThirtyBees needs the community. When this works, everybody wins.

  8. Hi everyone

We've updated the Shops using ThirtyBees page + home page banner as requested.
    https://thirtybees.com/powered-by-thirty-bees/shops-using-thirty-bees/

If your site isn't on there or if there's an issue, please let me know and we'll sort it out asap.
Thanks to  @the.rampage.rado and everyone else concerned for creating the list and everyone who submitted their sites!

I must say, seeing these sites, I was super impressed - some are even giving Shopify and Prest*sh*p a run for their money - especially in terms of designs.
Obviously our sites are on ThirtyBees, so they're just better anyways 😉

Well done to all, and keep up the good work and please remember, if you haven't already, to please support ThirtyBees and become a member 😉
Your support helps us keep ThirtyBees alive and help it grow and thrive!

Please dm me what you need. And we can take it from there. Design stuff, UI/UX is more my speciality.

  13. @Rhapsody if you'd like to help:

To continue growing, we need your help. We’re looking to expand our team, improve our platform, and spread the word about ThirtyBees to new users and developers. But we can’t do it alone. This is where our community comes in.

    How You Can Help:

    • Leave a Review on TrustPilot: If ThirtyBees has helped your business, we’d love for you to share your experience. Positive reviews on TrustPilot not only help us reach more people but also build trust within the community.

We believe in the potential of ThirtyBees and the strength of the community behind it. Together, we can continue to build something amazing—an eCommerce platform that truly serves its users and grows with them.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Your support means the world to us.

Let’s make ThirtyBees the best it can be - together.

  14. Hi @Rhapsody

You can close the boxes and they will go away for a long period - just select the option to dismiss them for a time.
The boxes are just there to encourage support. Another way to make the boxes disappear for good is to become a backer. These boxes will then not be shown (except for a Thank you message). Your backer level will be shown under the logo (silver member, etc).

We understand the resistance to change, but it could've been worse. TB needs money / support to survive and thrive and to continue providing an amazing e-commerce platform that is making it's merchants money - for free. We'd like to not go the full subscription route, but we need to do something.... Or there is literally no more ThirtyBees as we know it. Hope you understand 😉

The title pretty much states my question, but for the sake of clarity. . .

Has the Image Hover feature that is/was available in Prestashop 1.6.x ever get "ported" over to Thirty Bees?

The last time I did a migration attempt, this feature was missing in TB1.3.

I began using the image hover capability for product display in my Prestashop 1.6 store for two different purposes and have been waiting for Thirty Bees to implement this feature before attempting another migration. My catalog has around 17,000 product records, most of which use custom "product templates" displayed in the "pa_content" container to give the products in any given range/group/category a more immersive and distinctly identifiable presentation. This was accomplished primarily thanks to Panda Theme v1.2.

Previous migration efforts proved to be a touch more complex than anticipated, and while a migration was ultimately successful, it was not stable. The Panda theme used (1.4 IIRC) did not work as it should with the most difficult to correct being the image display along with a few other elements did not work reliably (their change of the style class names between versions made the old css unusable which required a rewrite of 2000 lines of css code) but even then, the unstable display of images (sometimes would display correct, sometimes not) ultimately forced me to abandon that migration. I've since decided I am willing to revisit this issue without using Panda going forward, and may be willing to discard some of the highly customized and unique overall presentation of the current site if necessary, but I refuse to give up what I consider to be basic features that afford better user, customer service/interaction, and administration functionality to my site because of "upgrades". (I also use a few modules that I have since ported to run under TB.)

To illustrate the unique nature of the site and why this is such a difficult move for me (because I am losing so much in the visual sphere): (home page)

    Hi

I use Panda for ThirtyBees and I can confirm that the product hover effect works in ThirtyBees. Whether it's now a default thirtybees feature is another story. However, seeing that you're already using Panda, it will probably not be too much of a mission to migrate your site to ThirtyBees. Also, Panda has been patched several times for ThirtyBees, so grabbing the latest version of Panda, plus applying the patch in the directory is advised.
