Deleting product image?

How do I delete a product image when the dashboard looks like this? :

You seem to be missing the image delete button

Exactly, which is part of the issue. The product photo is shown at the product page on the site, but not on the products page in the dashboard except for the "images 1" shown at the top, but below there's a "X", thus no delete button. This problem is not valid for most products, only a few!?

Depending on the product id I guess.

Each product image goes into a separate folder. Image no. 629 goes into img/p/6/2/9/, for example. Image numbers are not to be confused with product numbers.

Product numbers I can find, but where do I find the image numbers?

back office -> Catalog -> Products, click on a product, click on Images. Then you see a list of images for the product. The icon for each image is a link directly to the image. Show it by hovering over it or copy the link and paste it elsewhere to see it.

Thank you for spending time on this, I appreciate it! But where is the image number in all this? Also, why does this image not show up at the back office images page as per the screenshot in the first post?

If you have a link like .../img/p/6/2/9/629-XXX.jpg, image number is 629.
