wakabayashi Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I am a bit puzzled about the product dimension, which you can define under Shippment in the BO. In switzerland we do this like that: "Länge * Breite * Höhe". Translated into english this would be "Length * Width * Height". A possible alternative would probably be "Length * Width * Depth". But in the backoffice it's like: "Width * Height * Depth". Does this make any sense in GB/USA? From my german perspective "Height" and "Depth" are the same, but length is missing 🤨 I know of course that the order of mulitplication doesn't matter. But I wan't to display this information in the FrontOffice. So I want to use them correctly.
Signut Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Our experience here in the UK, is the main parcel shippers and aggregators use the terms; Length, Width and Height.
AndyC Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Yes with signut.. Am pretty sure UK is Length, Width and Height as said
wakabayashi Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 So the implementation in tb is just strange 🤨 ok actually it was PS, who did this 🙄
led24ee Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Height and depth are the same. Just try to imagine that in one case you start measuring from down to up and in other case vice versa.
wakabayashi Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 Well thats basically what I tried to ask in my post. But in the software there is height and depth as it would be not the same...
led24ee Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 In TB depth is like length, at least I use it like this. I have no idea why this is so. Looks like this is similar to "lift" and "elevator" thing. 1
toplakd Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) I never had a problem with this, nor to be confusing 🙂 From my point of view I see it like this - Wow your TV is so Wide, what's total depth of it with stand mounted? 🙂 BO Width = Lenght of the package BO Height = Height of the package BO Depth = Width of the package Edited January 25, 2020 by toplakd
