papagino Posted Wednesday at 06:18 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:18 PM (edited) Hello people. Being the sole operator of my online shop, meaning I am the only person having access to Thirtybees Backoffice, what would happen if I became incapacitated from an accident or worse, die from a sudden heart attack??? Visitors would still place orders for months and would never have their products shipped or delivered... This is why I was wondering if Thirtybees developers could make such a module (Dead Man Switch). Basically, it would put the shop in "Catalog mode" (All shopping features disabled) if nobody has logged in to the backoffice for X days. Also a message would show up on a top banner of the shop utilizing the Thirtybees native HTML Block module. A message should also show up on the Backoffice showing the Administrators that the "Dead Man Switch" is enabled. Another example for larger online businesses that would benefit for such module would be for example if all the Thirtybees Backoffice administrators traveled to an event and got in a bad accident/plane crash/Alien invasion (LOL...). Anybody else think that this could be a good thing to implement to Thirtybees? Any comments! Cheers, Edited Wednesday at 06:42 PM by papagino
Acer Posted Wednesday at 08:14 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:14 PM Hi @papagino This is actually a pretty good idea and a realistic scenario. @Smile @datakick 1
DRMasterChief Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM I also think that's a good idea, even if it's not something you think about every day. The time until "standby mode" should be adjustable, because some people only need to log into the back office every 2-3 days, not daily... it really depends on the business. Do other shop systems have something similar? That would give thirtybees another small unique selling point.
nickz Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Don't you have people working with you? That in itself is not the best solution.
