dynambee Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 I would contribute to that, for sure. If possible please PM me details.

vincentdenkspel Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Hi all, I'm the one who suggested the possibility to crowd fund modules among which an elasticsearch module. I'm working out the idea and hope to post it here somewhere on the forum on thursday.
okom3pom Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 I forget to say ElasticSearchConnector don't work with the last 2.x.x elasticserach ( my 2.4.5 )
Fixed, search query generator has bug. ES does not accept source:false it only like source:{} Sorry for the problem, bug will be fixed in next release of the module.
dynambee Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 @mdekker said in Let's talk about Search!: I'm not sure if it is compatible with those as well. It only has templates for default-bootstrap. Ah, I understand now. I'm certainly interested in @vincendenkspel's plan and hope that as a community we can put together a strong Elasticsearch module for 30bz.

Briljander Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I'm interested in this too and would be willing to contribute.
vincentdenkspel Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 @dynambee Yes. I'll be making a new post in the general discussions forum in about 12 hours
vincentdenkspel Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I created a new post in the general discussion section called "Indiegogo ElasticSearch project"
lesley Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I have just posted an article about crowdfunding modules, we are going to go ahead with it, but we want the community to be able to vote on which module we pick to test the waters out. You can read the article here, https://thirtybees.com/blog/crowdfunding-modules/
roband7 Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 @lesley said in Let's talk about Search!: I have just posted an article about crowdfunding modules, we are going to go ahead with it, but we want the community to be able to vote on which module we pick to test the waters out. You can read the article here, https://thirtybees.com/blog/crowdfunding-modules/ We would be willing to fund two of the suggested modules, but the vote didn´t allow picking more than one, so I picked the most important one for us.
lesley Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Likely what we will do is pick the winning module as the main goal, then the second place module will be a stretch goal, and so on. So in reality if it is popular enough they could all get funded.
okom3pom Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 FeedBack : Sales starts today in France. In analytics 250 visitor Brad use 1.6 Giga
Havouza Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I think if you doubled or tripled the number of visitors the usage would not raise much
okom3pom Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I tell you that tonight (France) normally the number of visit will be double
dynambee Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 @okom3pom said in Let's talk about Search!: FeedBack : Sales starts today in France. In analytics 250 visitor Brad use 1.6 Giga How many products? How many different combinations?
Havouza Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 My ES say it take 2.1 just running, probably because it set to not limit the use of memory but I found that a normal shop will not use much more
okom3pom Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 4K product 27K combinations In index i add combination reference, combination ean13 and synonym for product name
roband7 Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Just for reference, in another project, not related to thirty bees, I implemented an ES based search on top of a database with 180 million records. The ES instance ran just fine on a 4GB low-end server. I think you´re way overestimating how much CPU and RAM is needed for ES on top of thirty bees.
dynambee Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 @Havouza kindly shared a couple of interesting write-ups he came across in relation to search, and specifically the difference between using a database for search and using a proper search engine. They're written by a developer who worked on a large scale search system for a big ecommerce company but they are well written and I think many people who don't do development work will be able to grasp more of the important concepts: What Makes Search Engines Special? -- This one talks about search using standard database lookups for search, like PS and 30bz do now. Building a Search Engine for E-Commerce with Elasticsearch -- This one talks about using a search engine for eCommerce search, some of the issues he encountered on the project, and how different types of search queries can lead to very different results. Very worthwhile reading!
dynambee Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Cloudways now supports Elasticsearch 5.4 on all their VPS. This project was completed earlier today and should be available to all users now.
lesley Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Nice. I am actually talking to our guy over there about it now.

alwayspaws Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 The mailchimp newsletter announcement looks terrific! These are terrific Perks! "We are offering three different perk levels for our backers: The first level at $75 in backing instantly gives you a coupon to save 40% off one order of modules from Presto-Changeo. The coupon applies to the whole cart, not just one module. If you are not familiar with Presto-Changeo, they have over 60 modules, including a USPS, DHL, and UPS modules that can estimate shipping and print labels. The second level at $125 is for two hours of support, which is a 50% discount from normal support rates. This perk is for a 2 hour thirty bees support package from dh42. The third level at $500 is for a ten hour support package, also a 50% discount from regular support rates. This perk is for a 10 hour thirty bees support package from dh42. dh42 is one of the development companies behind thirty bees and they are also a world leader in e-commerce support." Let's all get involved. This project is truly worth it!
