Prestashop 1.6 & 1.7 to thirtybees - Good idea

I have 2 stores and have just come across thirtybees.

Has anyone made the jump across and would they recommend.  My problems with PS:

• Would never do an update - so scared that my store would break
• i have to pay for modules to do simple things ie delivery date picker
• No support on the forum

• Many people here switched from prestashop to thirtybees. I am one of these guys... 
• Well an update can always break something. But the probabilty depends on how much care a dev takes before he releases the update. I can say that @Traumflug and @datakick take a lot of care.
• The support here is much better than on ps. But of course you can't expect custom code.

It sounds like you have one store on 1.6 and one on 1.7. It will likely be easier to switch from 1.6 to tb than from 1.7. tb tries to be compatible with 1.6, so you can (hopefully) use all your modules.

What's great about TB is you can easily revert back to a working version with minimal hassle , and get the issues fixed , which I suppose would cost money.. But to be honest as a Zencart user just upgrading used to cost me over £100 then all the faults would appear and they would have to be fixed.. I see this as a minor issue + helps having a great programmer who doesn't charge the earth to do work for you.
