Recommendation for GDPR, translation and Ebay/Amazon modules

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

after successful migration to 30bees fork I discovered some problems with my GDPR module, which worked fine in PS1.6 ( DSG compliance Pro v2.1.7 - by PrestaChamps )

For this reason I would like to ask you for a module recommendation that you use. I am looking for the following modules that are compatible with 30 bees.

1. GDPR for Europe --> https://store.thirtybees.com/shop-modules/administration/logik-rgpd-suite?search_query=gdpr&results=4
2. translation module (translate products, categories etc. in the backend) --> not found yet
3. ebay/amazon module for export/import of products/orders --> Prestabay / Amazon Sync

All recommendations or negative experiences are welcome 😉

Regards
Alexander

1) We use this: https://www.presta-addons.com/en/prestashop-modules/31-m4-gdpr-compliance-toolkit.html

2) We used to use this, but not sure if it is TB compliant. We stopped because all translations systems now cost for each translation: https://www.presto-changeo.com/prestashop-modules/19-prestashop-website-translator-module.html

3) Ebay we use https://involic.com/ or https://store.thirtybees.com/shop-modules/administration/thirtybees-ebay-intergration-prestabay?search_query=ebay&results=3 but they also have an Amazon module

4) Amazon we use the common-services PS module

Hello,

Regarding RGPD/GDPR, could someone confirms one module which is compatible with last Thirtybees version, 1.2 ?

I ask because i was expecting to use the one from Eolia ("Prestashop GDPR Compliancy Module" / https://eoliashop.com/module-RGPD )

but unfortunately... it works up to Thirtybees 1.1 only and author's module confirmed me it won't be updated ("I stopped following them because I didn't agree with their development choices and didn't test the latest version.")

Best regards

Ebay and Amazon

I found two lower budget ones: Involic and eMagicOne. I chose the second because it covered both Ebay and Amazon.

I have not got eMagic to work yet, so I hope someone answers and says what it's good for.
The Amazon accounts that it works with cost $20 a month, out of budget for me. leaving ebay.

The ebay integration can be made to work by FTP or installing a connection module, which is fine but takes a little while to learn. There is also a smartphone app that shows you recent orders and stock levels on your phone. My problem was what do to with the ebay integration; for me it hasn't yet helped after a year's practice. I still change stock levels manually and not very reliably. Also, because this is a cheaper module than others, it offers limited support and no updates after the first month or so, which is fine but it takes a month or so just to get started. Finding the ebay plugon on their left- menu and where to click next on the top right menu took me at least a month to work-out. That leads to a sensible-looking set of options for synchronising, but none that I've learned to use usefully so far.

So I suggest using Invlic for ebay and finding something else for Amazon, but other people might have had more luck with eMagicOne.

Does anyone know how to test a database for extra columns or anything non-standard?
eMagicOne tell me that failure of ebay sync is usually related to non-standard databases.

(I read that I had an extra column called "Active" in mine somewhere, but forget where I read it and can't see it on phpmyadmin - not that I know much about databases)

You can check database schema using core updater.

However, they don't probably mean "non-standard database". They will have issues with any database schema that is different to that at the time of module development.

For example, in thirty bees, column tb_category_shop now has active column, but in ps16 db schema this column does not exists. If their module contains some hardcoded sql command to insert new categories, it can fail, because the value for this column will not be provided.

That does not mean the database schema is 'non-standard'
