I moved on to Woocommerce a few months ago. I did not have to port order history so it was painless. I miss a feature or two from TB/PS that I was used to, but overall, it has been a very positive change. I can't comment too much on the technological pros and cons, though.

Hi, I am the author of the module and this works without issue on my own TB site. I suspect you have tried installing the github zip file that is not packaged as a module and hence will not work. The TB marketplace is supposed to automatically create the module based on the github code but it stopped working. I raised this many months back but nobody is taking care of it. Try installing the attached module zip. P.S.: I am a merchant and not really a developer, so expect limited support. blockinstockproducts-2.2.2.zip

You could hide them on mobile from the front end from the modules dropdown easily. No need of code.

I think the translation is addressed in bleeding edge. You may also disable or uninstall the popular/featured products module.

It is just how you read it and seems correct. 'Extension enabled' is the the required checkpoint and fail is the result.

We produce and distribute farm produce whose yields/stocks are very variable. Hence day to day stocks and orders are in ecommerce, with summary order entries posted to erp. We use the erp for everything else - accounts, finance, assets, inventory of inputs, hr, ops, projects, tasks etc.

We run our accounting, finance, hr, ops, projects etc. on it but our kind of business does not let integrating erp stocks to ecommerce, not being proper manufacturing. Hence we had erpnext+presta/tb

I honestly don't know what you mean but I can tell you I have run their erp on my own vps for a few years without issue. It is my favorite open source project besides tb. Why is it that I get the feeling that you are someone's sock again? Just kidding! 😊☺️ Edit: I am not much of a techie but 2 commits per second over 4 days should be 691,200 commits per your calculation and not 885? In any case, i am not sure what you want to prove.

While we explore options on the future of Thirtybees on the Goodbye thread, here is one idea I wanted to explore community interest on. I use an elegant open source Python based ERP software called ERPNext and wonder if we could leverage ERPNext for the shop functionality. My experience with ERPNext is that they are 'truly open source' and the entire product is free, no paid modules or enterprise editions. Shopping Cart in ERPNext is integrated to the rest of the ERP. While their cart seems quite basic in comparison, if we have considerable interest from the community here, I should be able to invite key folks from the company to join us to discuss. If we influence the company to build a TB-> ERPNext connector and build any missing features, we may have a nice migration path. Please leave your comment and vote on the poll too. https://erpnext.com/ Edit 2: A connector would theoretically migrate the current tb site onto the ecommerce system of erpnext and also allow use of other erp features.

To me, discussing how much money to put in comes after an assessment of what is needed. Also we need to keep in mind $ is not the only way to contribute; there has been lots of contribution in testing, free modules etc. by lots of folks and that is not trivial. @Theo is right a $ is not the same everywhere and in every stage of business. For a relatively stable product, what do we need:? + Bug fixes in core and modules + Compatibility upgrades for new versions + Essential feature additions everyone needs + Forum and hosting How many $ and hours would this translate to? Should we start with the requirement before design? Edit: I would also raise an unpopular question. Lesley started off and we all moved due to PS1.6 limitations at that point. Over the years, did things get better that may mean merging of paths now? Are there other ready alternatives that don't need us to take the trouble?

I wish we had an update from the leads so we find a direction. May be @Traumflug knows anymore? The leads started the initiative with all good intentions and if there are constraints right now, that is understandable. I have no doubt tb is the best, truly open source, stable and feature rich ecommerce right now. It means a lot to keep it going. If there is not much of an update coming, why not assess the lowest cost we can keep this running? An open source forum, simple hosting, github, and just enough development to keep it stable and secure shouldn't cost the earth? I find this is a unique supportive spirited community, where a lot of us are merchants too. While some of us may be constrained to contribute $, I guess we can make it run?

Good stuff. I have posted screenshots of product listing pages that consist the options/attributes and quantities on a different thread as below. I believe that is the best possible and fastest experience where one can simply enter required products to the cart without traversing any pages. And if that is coupled with no popup after each product addition to cart, nothing like it!

Indeed. I have been receiving calls on how to delete products from the cart of late, and never realized it is to do with my switch to Niara theme!

@toplakd Thanks for your effort on the community theme! Do you need the 'In Stock' labels on the cart summary? A couple of thoughts if you are able to consider: Add to cart button on the product list page should show always, and not just show on hover. It is a major pain to add a product to cart on mobiles on community theme (Niara does this better). The popup screen after each product added to cart is unnecessary. A simple message that disappears in a few seconds confirming the product was added to cart will be much more elegant. Some sites have a small animation that shows the product moving to the cart. If a customer is adding 10 products to cart now, he has to dismiss the screen 10 times - it is almost like encouraging the customer to stop shopping and go checkout. I shall put these point somewhere on a dedicated thread but I wanted to raise them to you too. Thanks.

Customers who want to delete some products from the cart will delete anyway. My take is to keep the delete buttons available in the cart dropdown. Thanks.

@wakabayashi I think this case of cart being revalidated before order exists already. There is a message that asks user to remove the out of stock product or the order will not proceed.

Thanks @CoffeeGuy, that is a useful link. Getting the product attributes, quantity selection and no hover for add to cart are definitely on my list to research and sort over the next few days.
