Thirty Bees Randomly Assigning Free Shipping

Question

Dear All,

I have a strange issue going on with my shipping. Two customers have benefited from free shipping who shouldn't have. The shop is based in Malaysia, which is made of Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. Peninsular Malaysia customers are given free shipping for orders over RM100 but Borneo follows standard shipping rates.

I have three carriers:

Standard Shipping with prices entered for all zones and no free shipping options Promotional Shipping with prices entered for all zones and no free shipping options Free shipping is set up as a standard carrier with RM0 rate for orders between RM100 and RM5000 for Peninsular Malaysia

One customer who benefited from free shipping was standard shipping, the other promotional shipping. I have checked and amount were entered for the zones at those weights.

The only thing I can think of was I had "Spend X to get free shipping module" installed but not configured. I don't see how that could affect things but I could be wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Luke

Please make a full screenshot (Firefox is helpful here) of this page. It's back office -> Shipping -> Carriers, then click on the carrier and select the third tab.

i´m not sure, if it will help you - i use only 1 country with free shipping from price x other countries have another carrier-setting, not the same compare my image with your first image ;)

probably not but have you checked Shipping / Preferences 0_1543745441252_Capture.JPG should all be on zero, mine is set to be free after £50 or 5 items

@colorful-ant

Thanks, I think I will try to simplify my shipping as you suggest. However, I need to class Borneo as a separate country as shipping to there is expensive.

@andyc

I have RM0.50 handling charges. Do you think this can be causing the problem?

Thanks so much,

I'm no expert , but to me I think it's not that. I only suggested it as I got caught out with it while playing around in the beginning and had forgotten I had added free shipping there

Hi,

Just to confirm the problem hasn't gone away. It does appear to be intermittent. I can't find the cause of the problem.

The screenshots of the carrier and shipping part of the invoice are as follows:

Regards,

Luke

I think I had something similar, though that was, I believe, due to a PayPal module and PayPal Express payment. The customer had different addresses in the shop and with PayPal and the one in PayPal warranted free shipping, but the shop address didn't. Might this be a similar problem with the Adyen module?

Hi,

Sorry to revive an old thread but I still haven't managed to solve this issue. I just have the honour the sale and pay for the shipping when it happens. However, this means I can't ship overseas as the losses could be significant.

I was wondering if there is anything in the configuration or it is something to do with the caching.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Regards,

Luke

Hi tholespecial,

Thanks for the suggestion. I recreated the carriers a while a go and only have one country.

I had a look in the logs and this is interesting:

I will try to upgrade to 1.0.8 and investigate further.

I would go to V1.1.x 🙂

well said - 1.1.0 has a few 'imperfections' which can make you a bit frustrated.
