M4ketech Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Hey, After some sales i did face issue, or not issue but its always taking time to write emails to clients with package tracking code. So i cant find any way at dashboard to just paste the tracking code and press "send". Im missing something, or is this feature something what is not coded to TB?
lesley Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 When you add the tracking code in the back office to an order and save it, it triggers an email to the customer. 2

AndyC Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Are you kidding me. It's that simple, I too have been wondering how to add tracking number...SO easy when you know how lolol Thanks Â
yaniv14 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 In order for it to work you need to setup the tracking url in the carrier settings.
toplakd Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 If one wants to send only tracking number. than it's enough if only tracking number is added by the order. But if one wants to send tracking link, than both is needed. Tracking NR by order and correct url setting in carrier.
AndyC Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Thanks ...I suppose youmean setting up tracking you are looking for the page where you have to put the code... For example Royal Mail Tracking https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/  Edited April 24, 2020 by AndyC
M4ketech Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Oh yeah thanks. It was simple, i didnt see " Tracking number " at that row. Been using platforms where you can enter tracking code same time you change status to "shipped".
toplakd Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Not exactly. https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/@ Would be the link for royalmail. Where @ represents the tracking number you have added by the order. And @ by the link gets replaced by that number so it works. Few of my examples - look for @ https://www.post.at/sendungsverfolgung.php/details?pnum1=@ http://sledenje.posta.si/Default.aspx?tn=@&guid=23296CEC-0E1D&lang=en
yaniv14 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 I guess in your sample something like this will work: https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/@ @toplakd I am not sure about that. if I remember correctly the code is based on string replace from carrier->url. which mean that nothing will print if no carrier->url set
toplakd Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/RA530645839SI This is how royalmail works. but carrier url has to be set as https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/tracking-results/@ @ is the part which gets replaced by the tracking number added to the order. AndyC Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Thank you yet again .I'll have to change all of mine then
toplakd Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) 17 minutes ago, AndyC said: Thank you yet again .I'll have to change all of mine then When you have tracking number from any carrier, just go to its site and enter the tracking number. If their system shows the number also in their http://nameyour.mail.com/somethingTRACKINGNRsomethingxyz than copy that url to your Carrier "Carrier Settings / tracking url" and replace TRACKINGNR with @ so it will look like this: http://nameyour.mail.com/something@somethingxyz Then everytime you add tracking nr to the order the customer will get the link which will open the tracking directly on carriers website. AndyC Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 OK that is probably easier so basically just must remember the @
toplakd Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Yes. Your Tracking url in Carrier settings should be with @ instead of tracking number
colorful-ant Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Tracking url in Carrier settings -> DHL http://nolp.dhl.de/nextt-online-public/set_identcodes.do?lang=de&idc=@
haylau Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Just started playing with this and it does not work for me On bleeding edge I have enetered the URL where it needs to go (copied from above for Royal Mail so I know it is correct). When I enter the shipping code and save it does send the email , but the tracking info is missing    The order was already marked as shipped manually. Does it matter WHEN you add the tracking code?  Â
lesley Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Yes, it matters. Try with a new order from scratch. thirty bees saves carrier information in a way that does not break orders using a carrier of a previous save.Â

Should adding that code change the order status automatically to shipped (it doesn't)?
AndyC Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Such a great feature. But someone with multiple shippers isn't so great..Pity there can't be a drop down with different shippers
lesley Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 It means you need to create a carrier for each shipper.Â

For example, sometimes a customer chooses Royal Mail for delivery, then when we get the parcel ready we decide to send by Parcelforce instead. So when we add the tracking code we need to be able to change the carrier at that point otherwise they get the wrong tracking URL

I had a customer enquire as to why his tracking code was not found.. So have had to remove.. I used to add a message, but that doesn't get seen by guests, I don't think
