nickon Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I am playing around with mautic (www.mautic.org) ATM and I must say that I am amazed. It realy takes email marketing to an other level. IMO this must be intergrated with tb. An ps module already exists but seems to be broken. More when I am actually start using it on my website 1
nickon Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 https://github.com/kuzmany/mautic-prestashop I've installed it and works only partial. It correctly detect the users (by inserting a pixel), it tracks the user's activity eg what pages they visit but fails to indentify them when they submit an email or create an order
nickon Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 it could even detect the abandoned carts and based on that send emails to the customers. The code is there.
rubben1985 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Could someone of the actual team inform if mautic is on the roadmap? It seems a quite amazing platform.
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Lol I just wanted check it and get an 500 Internal Server Error. Edit: Already woriking again :)
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 They don't show any prices? Normally that means it's really expensive...
rubben1985 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I should update my information but as I remember it was free until 5000 leads
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 But what mean leads? Probably a page view is already a lead...
lesley Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Its free OSS. Its not currently on the roadmap, I would need to look into it more in depth.
rubben1985 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 @wakabayashi said in mautic instead of mailchimp: But what mean leads? Probably a page view is already a lead... with leads I mean contacts (mailchimps has 2K, mautic has 5K but the thing is the automation processes)
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Ah yep sorry! Saw now too, that it's open source. Dang mautic.com is completly different to mautic.org...
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I am watching videos about it now. It looks really interesting. Who else is interested in it?
Chandra Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I use it with TB and the prestashop module works well for the integration.
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 @Chandra thats amazing! Can you tell us more about it? Which is your site and how are you using it?
lesley Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 This looks interesting. I see there is a free module, but the developer never responded about us forking it. Is the free module actually missing anything?
nickon Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 @lesley . I managed to make it work after many trial and error. The module is not stable at all and the support is ... lacking.
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 @nickon are you working now with mautic? What is your experience? I just installed it on my server. Don't know where and how to start :)
lesley Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 We really cannot fork it and try to fix it, it is not properly licensed, I inquired about it last year, https://github.com/kuzmany/mautic-prestashop/issues/3
wakabayashi Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 @lesley it seems to me, that this module is just a solid basement. If I don't miss something, this module is less than 1000 lines of code. I am seriously considering to use mautic for my site, because I was planning to develop an inbound marketing module. But mautic seems to be so powerful and it's open source... If I am going to use it, my module will hopefully be more powerful than kuzmanys. But before you get too euphoric: If I release such a module. It probably won't be free.
lesley Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Fork it and release it if you want. See, I try to play safe with thirty bees. There are some of the files in the repo that are licensed, there are other smaller ones that are not. If there is not a license covering the whole repo I do not let us fork / release it. Its safer for us to not get sued that way.
nickon Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 @wakabayashi I stopped using it about 6 months ago mainly to the gdpr. The learing curve that mautic has does not make it worth your while if you don't have a huge mailing list. To use it to monitor abandonet carts etc is overkill
rubben1985 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 @nickon but for inbound marketing seems really good, abandoned car is just a fraction of the ecommerce strategies. Would you have a more easy to use but also useful for ambitious projects alternative?
nickon Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 @rubben1985, for our website the time spend on mautic and the whole gdpr mess is not something i want to trouble me atm
wakabayashi Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 @rubben1985 said in mautic instead of mailchimp: @nickon but for inbound marketing seems really good, abandoned car is just a fraction of the ecommerce strategies. I have just spent a few hours to understand the system a bit. It seems to me, that all product pages and category pages should be imported as assets. Same is true for your content (blog, cms & so on). But surely there is a lot more to do with tags & lists I guess.
