Question

Posted

I can only delete it manually (doesn't work with clear cache button). I think it is related to TB or the interaction between Panda and TB because the same template in PrestaShop does not have this problem.

Any ideas or how to debug it?

@dosbiner it solved the problem!!! after disabling it and doing click in clear cache, it gets empty. Is this a bug? is it normal? I understand that if it says to keep, there should be a limit in time, isn´t it? I mean, Google does not need files from months

@lesley so it is normal it takes GBs of space? any intermediate solution like keeping files for a limited time so google is happy but our hardrives too? I a, using a hosting with ssd so space is not huge

Mine is nearly 300 mb and I'm still not working with this shop. @lesley what do you think is the real bonus if any of having those files indefinetly? And does @Traumflug 's suggestion in the PR that one month worth of cache here is fine? This will reduce the size in half for me and probably by much more for active shops...

If your shop is not launched, I would just disable the setting.

The bonus is the caching in google relies on the files to be there. https://dh42.com/blog/prestashop-hurting-google/

I read your article but do you think that we need to keep those file indefinitely or we can delete ones that are 1-2 months old as @Traumflug sugested in his PR?

Disabling it in developing shop does not mean anything because if there's a bonus as you sugest I would like to have this turned on when I launch...

Disable "Keep JS and CSS files" option in CCC section and clear cache.

Thank you now it’s cleared.

I already read about the keep js and css options. But with cache disabled I was thinking that I didn’t need to disable other cache options.

is the Google cache still a thing?

I commented in github (here) about the possibility to limit cache is js and css for XX days or XX size.

In my opinion, this preservation of these archival JS and CSS files is completely unnecessary.
