rubben1985 Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 I can only delete it manually (doesn't work with clear cache button). I think it is related to TB or the interaction between Panda and TB because the same template in PrestaShop does not have this problem. Any ideas or how to debug it?
0 dosbiner Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Try to disable keep css and js files in performance page
0 rubben1985 Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 @dosbiner it solved the problem!!! after disabling it and doing click in clear cache, it gets empty. Is this a bug? is it normal? I understand that if it says to keep, there should be a limit in time, isn´t it? I mean, Google does not need files from months
0 lesley Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Not really. See the issue with that is because of this, https://dh42.com/blog/prestashop-hurting-google/
0 Briljander Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Does this keep all the cached files, not only CSS and js-files?
0 lesley Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 This is just for the theme related, css / js files.
0 rubben1985 Posted November 9, 2018 Author Posted November 9, 2018 @lesley so it is normal it takes GBs of space? any intermediate solution like keeping files for a limited time so google is happy but our hardrives too? I a, using a hosting with ssd so space is not huge
0 lesley Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Not that I can think of. How many pages does your site have, how often are you editing the css?

0 the.rampage.rado Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Mine is nearly 300 mb and I'm still not working with this shop. @lesley what do you think is the real bonus if any of having those files indefinetly? And does @Traumflug 's suggestion in the PR that one month worth of cache here is fine? This will reduce the size in half for me and probably by much more for active shops...
0 lesley Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 If your shop is not launched, I would just disable the setting. The bonus is the caching in google relies on the files to be there. https://dh42.com/blog/prestashop-hurting-google/
0 the.rampage.rado Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I read your article but do you think that we need to keep those file indefinitely or we can delete ones that are 1-2 months old as @Traumflug sugested in his PR? Disabling it in developing shop does not mean anything because if there's a bonus as you sugest I would like to have this turned on when I launch...
0 Traumflug Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I would like to have this turned on when I launch… When you launch. Not before.
0 Beeta Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) is this still a thing? I have the cache disabled but 5GB of CSS and JS files in my community theme cache folder. Edited March 20 by Beeta

I already read about the keep js and css options. But with cache disabled I was thinking that I didn’t need to disable other cache options. is the Google cache still a thing? I commented in github (here) about the possibility to limit cache is js and css for XX days or XX size.
