motion2082 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Hey guys, The theme we're using on our site is over three years old now and it's terrible. We want to upgrade to a new theme and have narrowed it down to these three Transformer = https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/transformer-prestashop-theme-premium-responsive Panda = https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/panda-creative-responsive-prestashop-theme Warehouse = https://themeforest.net/item/warehouse-responsive-prestashop-16-theme-blog/3178575 Based on your experiences with any of these themes which one is the most user friendly to work with and customise? Regards, Motion
dosbiner Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I use warehouse, but the developer stop support for ps 1.6 or tb version. So I prefer panda theme, @Jonny said he will continue support for thirtybees https://www.sunnytoo.com/32045/panda-theme-thirty-bees-premium-thirty-bees-theme
motion2082 Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 hi dosbiner, that's a big no for Warehouse then. narrows it down to Panda and Transformer SCORE Warehouse = 0 Panda = 1 Transformer = 0 Total Votes 1/1
wakabayashi Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Panda as I only heard good things about @Jonny
the.rampage.rado Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Warehouse is good enough, fully mature theme with nearly all items that I need. I can't see no bugs caused by the theme (few years back in it's develpoment I contributed few bugs but everything is smooth now).
30knees Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I'm also using Panda and it's working well. He has good customer support. I don't have experience with the other themes. There is the Community Theme, though, too, which will definitely be maintained.
rubben1985 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 @Jonny is great and give support to TB. I am using Panda and I am very happy with it. I just customized the blog with his advanced service support and I told him to include the improvement in the TB version so the rest of the users could benefit too.
x97wehner Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I use warehouse currently and it works very well. Based on what I see, Panda has very similar functionality (Which is why I haven't changed) plus a few extras and a developer that's still improving it. The warehouse developer is just maintaining at this point. There hasn't been any improvement in quite some time. I'd love to see someone create a bit more modern theme for all though as both have some dated components.
motion2082 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 Thanks guys for your input so far. Seems like Panda is the favorable theme atm but a few happy developers using Warehouse still. No Transformer mentions which is interesting UPDATED SCORE Warehouse = 2 Panda = 4 Transformer = 0 Total Votes 6/6
Briljander Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I use warehouse theme and like it the best but I would vote for Panda anyway because Warehouse is not maintained or supported for TB which is a shame.
rubben1985 Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 @motion2082 for what I understand, Panda is an evolution of transformer. Even if "warehouse" is used by some developers not having official support is a big "but". Something great of jonny with Panda theme is that he ALWAYS answer the question in 24h. Always trying to solve the problems.
danwarrior Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 For me, Panda is THE theme, both for Presta and TB. And TB is much more agile, so TB+Panda are my perfect pack. So much so that I created a course about Panda and now I'm extending it to aply with TB mainly. Panda, no doubt.
datakick Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 @danwarrior could you share link to your course?
Guest Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Have no problems with warehouse but I only use it because I've used it essentially since it came out. Works perfectly with TB and the developer is a nice guy but as other people have said, he's working solely on PS 1.7 now. Since he's not updating it anymore for our implementation, I cannot recommend it, but it does work well at the moment. I'd imagine out of these 3 options you would want to go with Panda.
cdwebman Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Here also Panda : great theme and excellent support !
motion2082 Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 I think that settles it then :) Panda looks like the overall winner ;) Customer support is extremely important and the ability to be supported for TB and PS1.6 is a real bonus. UPDATED SCORE Warehouse = 3 Panda = 7 Transformer = 0 Total Votes 10/10
danwarrior Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 @datakick I'm still migrating my school and the course is only in Spanish language by now. This is the old landing page: https://escuela.elplandedan.com/curso-prestashop-1-7-en-espanol-ecommerce-by-yourself/
motion2082 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 Hey guys, Purchased the Panda Theme last week. Not a huge fan. Everything is broken up into individual modules. My existing modules don't work on the theme. Kinda useless theme tbh. Trying to get a refund now as I keep getting 404's and 500's on the server. Thought I would report my feedback to the thread.Â

Themes come often with their own modules. In general I would let the theme dev look at the errors. Maybe there is just a missing file or so. 1

Maybe he expected another thing, but is like you say: each theme come with their own modules, so if he's trying to make work other modules, obviously need adjustment. The thing is to move from the last theme to the new theme all the content. Maybe can share an example, @motion2082 so we can help?

We already have 85% of what the theme offers. I actually think we would be better using the default bootstrap theme with a custom menu module and call it a day. The developer refunded the theme as it's going be too much work to switch 1

toplakd Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Yeah. Everybody has its own needs and taste. And it all depends on shop and products that are offered. I'm stil on PS, but will start modifying tb default to my needs, so it will end like my current default bootstrap PS theme. But can't use it on TB as it crashes TB once installed, as i modified much of it, because i wanted good mobile view from 360px and up. And after I'm done, than i will start migrating. shop.alza-racing.com for live preview Â
